“Piper Pacer Project”
Up for auction is a solid little Piper PA-20 pacer. It was annualed in 2013 and stored in a hangar until I bought it a few months back. My plan was to get it airworthy, fly it for a while, and then to redo the frame and fabric. But we’re undergoing some major life changes so I’m passing it on to it’s next owner. Most of this plane is in good condition. But while we were doing the annual, we found some rust in the tail where the plane has never had a drain hole (see pictures). The left wingtip has been dented (see pictures), the wingtip bow is broken, but no damage to the spars or ailerons. These will need to be fixed to get the plane on annual.
The good: The instrument panel is awesome. It has been nicely restored and everything works…. GPS, radios, transponder (just got the cert), lights etc.Engine is great. It has 308 hours SMOH (complete 1990), 2047 TT and starts and runs every time. Spin on oil filter and alternator upgrades. New oil and filter just put on it. Compressions are 75/80, 75/80, 76/80, 75/80 when checked this month.Has micro VGs. Cleveland wheels and brakes upgrade, and new tires installed 2013. I still have original gear and wheel pants.I have complete set of covers for the plane however I’ve never unpacked them. Has all logs
The bad:Paint is flaking off (see pictures). Fabric seems good.Frame has a little surface rust in places. Last few inches of longerons have some serious rust.Wingtip bow is damaged and will need to be replaced. I don’t have a rear seat for the plane.

I am requiring a $1000 deposit within 24hours of the auction ending. And will give you a week to come get the plane. I need to get everything out of the hangar as soon as possible.
