1956 BEECH G35 BONANZA, 6070 TT, 468 S/MATTITUCK E-225, NORMAL GEAR UP LANDING, CHEAP !!
LONG KNOWN AS A FAST COMFORTABLE AND RUGGED AIRPLANE, THE BONANZA HAS BEEN IN CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION (IF YOU COUNT THE A-36 AS A BONANZA) LONGER THAN ANY OTHER AIRCRAFT TYPE !!
CONSTANTLY IMPROVED, AT LEAST FOR THE 1ST 25 YEARS OR SO, WITH EACH YEAR OR TWO BRINGING MORE POWER, MORE SPEED (OR BOTH) AND MORE REFINEMENT.
THE FIRST 2 YEARS HAD 165 H.P. ENGINES, A STEEL GIRDER TRUSS IN THE FUSELAGE TO HOLD THE WINGS ON, AND THE FIRST FEW EVEN HAD WOOD CONSTANT SPEED PROPELLORS !!
A COUPLE YEARS LATER, AND THE HORSEPOWER KEPT INCREASING, TO 185, THEN 205, AND FINALLY 225 IN THE "G" MODEL
BY 1956, WITH THE "G" MODEL, THE HORSEPOWER IS NOW 225, THE CENTER SECTION OF THE FUSELAGE IS THE SAME ALUMINUM STRUCTURE AS THE MODERN BONANZA, AND TO HANDLE THE EXTRA SPEED (THE "G"MODEL LISTS 169 KNOTS MAX AND 160 KNOTS CRUISE (184MPH), ON ABOUT 9-9.5 GALLONS PER HOUR, AND THE V TAIL FIXED SURFACES ARE BIGGER, FOR BETTER STABILITY.
YEARS LATER, THESE BIGGER SURFACES WERE FOUND TO NEED EXTRA SUPPORT AT THE BASE OF THEIR LEADING EDGES, SO AN AD WAS PLACED ON THEM TO ADD A SUPPORT STRAP TO EACH. THIS AIRPLANE HAS THE AD COMPLIED WITH AND THE SUPPORTS ADDED !!
AS THE AIRPLANE BECAME FASTER AND MORE REFINED (RECLINING SEAT BACKS, BETTER GEAR AND FLAP SWITCH SEPARATION), THE STANDARD 39 GALLONS OF FUEL (ONLY 34 USEABLE ) STARTED TO BECOME A LIMITATION, SO SOME AIRCRAFT, LIKE THIS ONE, HAD AN AUX TANK ADDED AT THE FACTORY. THIS EXTRA 20 GALLONS ADDED UP TO OVER 300 MORE MILES TO THE RANGE, AND OVER 2 HOURS TO THE ENDURANCE, MAKING LONGER LEGS POSSIBLE! IT IS DIFFICULT TO HAVE TOO MUCH FUEL CAPACITY !!
THIS PRETTY AIRPLANE SUFFERED THE INDIGNITY OF A GEAR UP LANDING.
NOT A GEAR FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, THE PILOT JUST FORGOT TO FLIP THE SWITCH !!
1 LITTLE BOLT THAT WAS ADDED RECENTLY RESULTED IN FAR LESS DAMAGE TO THE BELLY OF THIS AIRPLANE THAN YOU WOULD NORMALLY SEE WITH A GEAR UP.
ONE OF THE LAST ENTRIES IN THE LOGBOOK SAYS THAT THE RETRACTABLE STEP, WHICH OBVIOUSLY HAD BEEN CAUSING THE OWNER ISSUES PREVIOUSLY, WAS SECURED IN THE DOWN POSITION BY THE ADDITION OF A SINGLE BOLT.
AS A RESULT, THE AIRPLANE, WHEN IT TOUCHED DOWN ON WITHOUT THE WHEELS OUT, RODE ON THE NOSE GEAR DOORS, THE FIRST BELLY SKIN, THE LEFT FLAP INBOARD EDGE (OPPOSITE OF THE STEP) AND THE STEP ITSELF, WHICH HELD THE BELLY UP OFF THE RUNWAY, AND RESULTED IN NO DAMAGE BEHIND THE FIRST SKIN !!!
THE AIRPLANE LANDED WINGS LEVEL, AND STAYED LEVEL, SO THERE IS NO SCRAPING, DENTING OR DAMAGE TO EITHER WING !!
THE RIGHT FLAP, WHICH SITS JUST HIGHER THAN THE EXTENDED STEP, HAS ONLY THE SMALLEST LITTLE PAINT SCRAPE, AND WILL NOT REQUIRE ANY RESKINNING OR PATCHING !!
THE RIGHT INBOARD GEAR DOOR WAS DAMAGED (PUSHED UP) WHEN THE AIRPLANE WAS LIFTED BACK ONTO IT"S WHEELS
THE ONLY AIRFRAME DAMAGE THEN IS TO THE NOSE DOORS, THE SKIN AROUND THESE DOORS, THE FIRST BELLY SKINS AFTER THE NOSE WELL, THE LEFT FLAP AND THE RIGHT INBOARD GEAR DOOR (MAYBE REPAIRABLE). AND THE STEP.
NO MID OR AFT BELLY SCRAPING OR DAMAGE
NO DAMAGE TO THE RUDDERVATORS
THE FUSELAGE IS STRAIGHT AND SQUARE, AND THE DOORS FIT WELL
NO DAMAGE TO THE WINDOWS OR WINDSHIELD (GLASS IS ALL GOOD)
FLAPS AND AILERONS ARE UNDAMAGED
ALL OF THE LANDING GEAR ITSELF IS UNDAMAGED (IT WAS SAFELY UP IN THE WELLS)
THE AIRPLANE LOOKS CLEAN OVERALL, WITH 2 TONE BLUE STRIPES OVER WHITE.

THE FUSELAGE HAS A CLAIM PAINTED ON IT THAT SAYS THIS AIRPLANE SET A RECORD FOR 268.68 MPH. I COULD NOT FIND ANY INFO ABOUT HOW, OR WHEN THIS FEAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED.
INSIDE, THE BLUE CLOTH SEATS ARE IN VERY NICE CONDITION
THE DASH HAS GOOD LOOKING INSTRUMENTS, ALTHOUGH THE D.G. AND TURN CO-ORDINATOR HAVE BEEN REMOVED, AND ARE NOT INCLUDED HERE.

KING KT-76A TRANSPONDER WITH MODE"C" ENCODER
WX-10A STORMSCOPE SYSTEM WITH UNDAMAGED ANTENNA
G.E.M. 6 CYLINDER EGT/CHT GRAPHIC ENGINE MONITOR SYSTEM WITH PROBS AND GUAGE
THE TRAYS FOR 2 KING KX-155 NAV-COMS AND 1 INDICATOR ARE INSTALLED, BUT THE PANEL UNITS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION.. SIMPLY SLIDE IN REPLACEMENTS IF YOU WANT TO FLY WITH THIS TYPE OF EQUIPMENT, BUT DON"T PAY FOR SOMETHING YOU PLAN TO UPGRADE ANYWAY
THE TRAY AND WIRING AND ANTENNA ARE ALSO INSTALLED AND INCLUDED FOR A KING PANEL MOUNT GPS, BUT AGAIN THE PANEL UNIT IS NOT INCLUDED.
A SINGLE YOKE IS INCLUDED.
THE CONTINENTAL E-225 ENGINE WAS OVERHAULED BY THE EXPERTS AT MATTITUCK 3/23/2000. BESIDES THE NORMAL OVERHAUL, THE PRESSURE CARB WAS REBUILT, THE MAGS WERE UPGRADED TO NEW SLICKS, AND A JASCO ALTERNATOR REPLACED THE GENERATOR
AS YOU CAN SEE, THE BEECH 215 PROP IS BENT ON BOTH BLADES, WHICH IS A SHAME BECAUSE IT ONLY HAS 300 HOURS SINCE OVERHAUL IN 2006.
THE ENGINE HAS THEREFORE SUFFERED A PROP STRIKE, BUT UNLIKE MORE MODERN ENGINES, THE E-225 HAS A HUGE, HEAVY SPLINED CRANKSHAFT EXTENSION THAT THE PROP SLIDES ON, LIKE THE OLD RADIALS HAD, NOT A WIMPY LITTLE THIN FLANGE, SO THE INCIDENCE OF BENDING THIS SHAFT IS MUCH LOWER THAN BENDING A FLANGED CRANK.
THE ONLY PHYSICAL DAMAGE VISIBLE IS TO THE TWO TAILPIPES THAT STICK OUT OF THE LOWER COWL.
THIS AIRPLANE IS TIED DOWN AT THE MARSHALL, MISSOURI AIRPORT, JUST EAST OF KANSAS CITY.
