Make: Piper Colt Model Year: 1961

This auction is for a 1961 Piper Colt Single engine airplane. I have the complete maintenance records for this airplane.

As of 6/12/2012 the engine cylinders checked out as follows. Compression #1 75/80 #2 79/80 #3 74/80 #4 78/80. It had 4 new cylinders rod bearings or partial overhaul and oil pump kit added on 9/30/2008 at 1127.0 SMOH.

As of 6/12/2012 the engine had tach time of 966.5 total time of 1230.7 we have put about 58 hours on it since so it is around 1288 hours total time now. 1024 tach time.

This airplane is in rough shape and would be a nice project for an A&P or someone who has the time and dime to fix her up. This airplane has a low fuel consumption at around 5.5 -6 GPH which makes it affordable to just go up and put around. The airplane WILL need complete a new fabric job and the right landing gear strut will need to be replaced for sure, as I can see a crack on it. It also has a VERY slow seepage or leak form the fuel selector valve that needs fixed. There is no headliner in the airplane which makes the cab look really rough.

I am also throwing in a set of new tires that I had purchased for this airplane a few months ago and a new landing light lens cover. I also have the piper parts directory book and the complete maintenance records for it as well. The frost covers for the wings and two headsets are included with the purchase. I currently have the inspection ports taken off of the craft.

Please use the pictures as a guide, you be the judge.

Buyer will be responsible for taking the wings off and hauling it away on a trailer. This airplane is currently in a hanger in Ogallala Nebraska at KOGA. Once purchased we will set up and appointment with me preferably on a weekend to meet at the hanger. I can help assist with the wing removal if need be.
