CESSNA DESIGNED THIS AREA TO BE EASILY REPLACEABLE, SO THE FRONT AND REAR SPAR DO NOT PROTRUDE OUT THIS FAR, ONLY SOME SEPARATE STRINGERS AND FORMERS.THIS WING IS VERY EASILY, AND COST EFFECTIVELY, REPAIRABLE !!WHICH IS AWESOME, BECAUSE THIS AIRPLANE HAS THE OPTIONAL, DESIREABLE AND VERY RARE LONG RANGE FUEL TANK WINGS !!AS YOU MAY KNOW, WHEN THE LONG RANGE FUEL TANKS ARE INSTALLED, THEY REQUIRE THE WING TO BE MODIFIED, SO FEW PEOPLE DO IT BECAUSE OF THE HIGH EXPENSE.But this airplane already has long range tanks installed !!WHY IS THIS SUCH A BIG DEAL?WELL, IF YOU ARE ONLY GOING TO USE AN AIRPLANE WITH IT’S ORIGINAL ENGINE, AND ONLY FOR FLIGHT INSTRUCTION, IT PROBABLY ISN’T THAT IMPORTANT.IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO MAKE CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHTS, THE BIGGER TANKS ARE AN ASSET.WHERE THE BIG TANKS REALLY HELP IS IF YOU CONVERT TO A LARGER, MORE POWERFUL ENGINE, IN THIS CASE THE 150 OR 160 H.P. 0-320 LYCOMING !!NOW YOU CAN IMAGINE WHAT A LIGHTWEIGHT AIRPLANE LIKE A 150 PERFORMS LIKE WHEN YOU GIVE IT A 50-60% HORSEPOWER BOOST !!HELICOPTER-LIKE TAKEOFFS, GREAT CLIMB RATE, AND CERTAINLY MORE CRUISE (ALTHOUGH NOT 60%).BUT THE FUEL BURN GOES UP BY 50-60% AS WELL, SO LONG RANGE TANKS ARE A BIG DEAL, AND ALMOST REQUIRED FOR THIS ENGINE CONVERSION.AND THIS AIRFRAME, WITH NO OTHER DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT EXCEPT THE OUTBOARD WING, IS FOR SALE HERE WITHOUT THE ENGINE, READY FOR YOU TO ADD YOUR CHOICE !!THE BALANCE OF THE AIRFRAME, INCLUDING THE SPARS ON THE LEFT WING, AND THE SURFACES AND STRUT ON THE LEFT WING, WERE NOT DAMAGED IN THIS EVENT !!THE RIGHT WING, FLAP, AILERON OR TIP WERE NOT AFFECTED.THE LONG RANGE TANKS AND COVERS ARE GOOD.THE FUSELAGE APPEARS TOTALLY UNAFFECTED. NO WRINKLING IS NOTED AT THE WING ATTACH POINTS, NOR THE WINDSHIELD POSTS, NOR THE GEAR SADDLES.ALL OF THE LANDING GEAR APPEARS UNAFFECTED, EVEN THE LEFT SIDE.THE FUSELAGE DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED AT ALL !! THE DOORS FIT WELL, THE GLASS IS UNBROKEN, AND THE FIREWALL AND COWLINGS OF COURSE SUFFERED NO DAMEGE.THE TAIL AND TAIL FEATHERS ARE INTACT AND WERE NOT AFFECTED.INSIDE, THE TAN CLOTH SEAT INTERIOR IS COMPLETE, AND LOOKS PRETTY GOOD. THE 66-71 150’S ARE ACTUALLY A LITTLE LESS PLASTICY INSIDE THAN THE LATER VERSIONS, SO THEIR INTERIORS HOLD UP BETTER.THE DASH IS COMPLETE, AS SHOWN, WITH ALL FLIGHT AND ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION EXCEPT 2 INSTRUMENTS, AND ALL OF THE SWITCHGEAR, CIRCUIT PROTECTION, YOKES, ETC. INTACT.THE TRAYS AND WIRING ARE INCLUDED FOR A KING KX-170B NAV-COM AND A KING TRANSPONDER, BUT THE PANEL UNITS THEMSELVES ARE NOT INCLUDED.THE VOR INDICATOR FOR THE NAV-COM AND THE MODE “C” ENCODER FOR THE TRANSPONDER ARE STILL INSTALLED, STILL WIRED, AND INCLUDED.LOCATED AT THE POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA AIRPORT, NORTH OF FORT LAUDERDALE.THIS AIRPLANE INCLUDES THE FAA AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE FROM 1966, THE FAA BILL OF SALE, AND LOGBOOKS SINCE DAY 1.WE WILL PAY THE TIEDOWN FEE FOR 30 DAYS FROM THE END OF THE AUCTION, AND YOU COULD PAY FOR MORE IF YOU NEED MORE TIME TO SET UP A TIME TO PICK IT UP.THE 150 IS A VERY EASY AIRPLANE TO TAKE THE WINGS OFF OF, AND THIS ONE WILL ROLL RIGHT UP ONTO A SMALL TRAILER EASILY.VERY LITTLE MONEY HERE, FOR A GREAT PROJECT, WITH THE RARE LONG RANGE TANKS !!
