1967 CESSNA 150, CUTE LITTLE AIRFRAME, WINGS DAMAGED, CHEAP !! THIS IS A NICE LITTLE 150 THAT HAD A LITTLE PROBLEM ! THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE DURING THE TAKE-OFF ROLL, WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, AND HIT WHAT IS DESCRIBD AS “SHRUBS”. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE WINGS, ESPECIALLY THE LEFT WING, WERE DAMAGED. THE LEFT WING LEADING EDGE IS DENTED UP, AND THE PRESSURE ON THE FRONT BENT THE REAR SPAR, WHICH WRINKLED THE INBOARD END OF THE WING. THE LEFT WINGTIP AND FLAP AND AILERON DO NOT APPEAR TO HAVE ANY DAMAGE. THE RIGHT WING IS BENT UP ON THE FAR OUTBOARD EDGE. THIS AREA OF THE 150 WING WAS DESIGNED BY CESSNA TO BE MORE EASILY REPAIRABLE (AS THEY ANTICIPATED SOME MISHAPS IN TRAINING), SO THE FRONT AND REAR SPARS DO NOT GO ALL THE WAY OUT, THEY STOP INBOARD OF THESE SKINS, SO REPLACEMENT IS JUST 2 RIBS AND 2 SKINS. THE TIP IS CRACKED ON THE RIGHT SIDE, AND THE AILERON IS SLIGHTLY DAMAGED OUTBOARD. THE RIGHT FLAP IS OK, AND BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT LIFT STRUTS AND STRUT FAIRINGS LOOK OK. THE NOSE BOWLS OF THE COWLING EACH HAVE A SMALL AREA OF DAMAGE ON THE LEFT SIDE, THE UPPER NOSEBOWL HAS A DENT (SHOWN), AND THE LOWER HAS A WIDER BUT MUCH SHALLOWER “PUSH”. BOTH OF THESE AREAS ARE IN LIGHT ALUMINUM, SO THEY WILL POP AND MASSAGE OUT. THE REST OF THE AIRFRAME ISN’T HURT LIKE IT WOULD BE FROM HITTING A HARD OBJECT. NO DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL!! NO DAMAGE TO THE BOOTCOWL BEHIND THE FIREWALL, OR THE CABIN BELLY. ALL THREE LANDING GEAR ARE UNDAMAGED AND LOOK GOOD NO DAMAGE TO THE DOORS. THE TAILCONE AND TAILFEATHERS ARE UNDAMAGED. IN FACT THE ONLY DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE FUSELAGE IS TO THE CABIN ROOF, WHERE THE WING BOLTS ON. THERE IS A FAIRING HERE, THAT COVERS THE JOINT BETWEEN WING AND AIRFRAME, AND THIS FAIRING IS POPPED UP, WITH SOME DENTING SHOWING BENEATH IT. THE GLASS ALL AROUND LOOKS GOOD, INCLUDING THE WINDSHEILD, BUT THE REAR WINDOW ON THE RIGHT SIDE IS CRACKED. THE INTERIOR ON THIS AIRPLANE IS VERY PRETTY, WITH RED CARPETS, GREY CLOTH SEATS WITH RED VINYL SURROUNDS, AND GOOD PLASTICS. THE DASH IS 100% COMPLETE, WITH ALL FLIGHT AND ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION INTACT! THE VACUMN GYROS ARE BOTH THE LATE STYLE, AND ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS LOOK GOOD. THE RADIO PANEL UNITS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE TRAYS, BUT THE TRAYS ARE STILL INSTALLED, WIRED AND INCLUDED, FOR A 300 NAV-COM (OR AN MX-300 DIGITAL), AND A KING TRANSPONDER. STILL INCLUDED AND WIRED ARE THE VOR INDICATOR, THE MODE “C” ENCODER FOR THE TRANSPONDER, AND AN SPA 400 INTERCOM SYSTEM. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTOS INCLUDED, WE HAVE REMOVED THE 0-200 ENGINE FROM THE UNDAMAGED MOUNT (IT SUSTAINED A PROP STRIKE), ALONG WITH THE BENT PROP AND ENGINE ACCESSORIES, AND THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED HERE. IN ADDITION TO THE UNDAMAGED MOUNT, WE UNBOLTED AND LEFT ALL OF THE ELECRICAL CABLES, THE OIL TEMPURATURE LINE, THE THROTTLE AND MIXTURE CABLES, ETC. ARE ALL UNDAMAGED AND INSTALLED.THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE NOSEGEAR UPPER TUBE. WE JUST LET THE NITROGEN OUT TO ALLOW THE AIRPLANE TO SIT FLATTER WITH NO ENGINE INSTALLED, AND SOME OF THE HYRAULIC FLUID SPRAYED OUT. OF COURSE YOU CAN SIMPLY BOLT AN 0-200 BACK ONTO THIS MOUNT, BUT MANY, MANY PEOPLE LIKE TO INSTALL LYCOMING 0-320’S, EITHER 150 OR 160 H.P. ONTO THESE 150’S, AND THIS IS A GREAT CANDIDATE. THE 150 H.P. INCREASES SPEED OF COURSE, BUT THE BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT IS A FANTASTIC RATE OF CLIMB AND SUPER SHORT TAKE-OFF ROLL. THE MODIFIED 150"S ARE STUNNING SHORT FIELD PERFORMERS !! THE RIGHT WING IS OF COURSE VERY REPAIRABLE, WHILE I WOULD EXPECT THE LEFT WING TO BE FAR CHEAPER TO REPLACE THAN REPAIR. IF YOU GO WITH THE 150 OR 160 H.P. YOU MAY WANT TO ADD WINGS WITH LONG RANGE TANKS (THE WINGS THEMSELVES ARE DIFFERENT, TO ACCEPT THE BIGGER TANKS), WHICH WOULD SOLVE THE WING PROBLEM COMPLETELY. THIS IS A CLEAN, CUTE LITTLE AIRPLANE, WITH A VERY CLEAN INTERIOR. TOTAL AIRFRAME TIME IS 5532 LOCATED AT THE PLUM ISLAND AERODROME (2B2), IN NEWBURYPORT, MASS., JUST UP THE COAST FROM BOSTON. WE WILL PAY THE TIE-DOWN FEE FOR 30 DAYS FROM THE END OF THE AUCTION. SOLD WITH THE FAA BILL OF SALE, FAA FAIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE AND THE AIRFRAME LOGBOOKS SINCE NEW, WITH THE FIRST ENTRY BEING A TEST FLIGHT IN WICHITA 8/1967 !! THE COMPLETE AND CONTINUOUS LOGS SHOW THE AIRPLANE WAS ORIGINALLY BASED IN MINNESOTA, THEN FLORIDA FOR A FEW YEARS, THEN ALMOST 4 DECADES IN MISSOURI, BEFORE GOING TO NEW ENGLAND JUST IN 2017.
