THIS AIRPLANE WAS MINDING IT"S OWN BUSINESS, TIED DOWN AT THE MONTGOMERY FIELD AIRPORT IN SAN DIEGO, WHEN ANOTHER AIRPLANE TAXIED INTO THE TAIL.
THE DAMAGE IS CONFINED ONLY TO THE FAR AFT TAIL.
THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE CABIN AREA OR FORWARD TAILCONE
NO DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL, ENGINE MOUNT OR COWLINGS. THE OTHER AIRPLANE ONLY HIT THE TAIL !!
NO DAMAGE TO THE WINGS, FLAPS, AILERONS OR TIPS.
NO DAMAGE TO THE MAIN OR NOSE GEAR
ALL OF THE GLASS IS UNDAMAGED
INSIDE, THOSE NICE ARCHER HIGH BACK SEATS ARE GOOD, IF A LITTLE DIRTY
THE PILOT"S SEAT HAS THE DESIRABLE VERTICALLY ADJUSTABLE FEATURE
THE MODERN DESIGN 6 PACK DASH LOOKS GOOD. THE AVIONICS PANEL UNITS AND 2 FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED.
DON"T WORRY, THE TRAYS AND CONNECTORS FOR THE KING NAV-COM, AUDIO PANEL AND TRANSPONDER , ALONG WITH THE MODE "C" ENCODER ARE STILL INSTALLED AND WIRED UP, SO WHEN YOU GET IT REPAIRED, YOU WILL NOT NEED TO REWIRE (RADIOS AND INDICATORS NOT INCLUDED)
ALL OF THE FLIGHT AND ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION IS INTACT, AND INCLUDED, AS SHOWN
TOE-BRAKES ON BOTH SIDES
THE DAMAGE IS AS FOLLOWS:
VERTICAL FIN DENTED AND SCRAPED ON LEFT SIDE
HORIZONTAL STABILATOR IS SCRAPED ON THE TOP SKIN OF THE LEFT SIDE OUTBOARD
THE RUDDER IS DENTED AT THE BOTTOM
THE TRIM JACKSCREW ASSEMBLY ARMS ARE BENT
THERE IS A DENT ON THE UPPER LEFT TAILCONE SKIN. IT APPEARS TO BE BETWEEN THE FAR AFT BULKHEAD AND THE NEXT BULKHEAD FORWARD
BOTH PLASTIC TAILCONE CLOSE-OUTS ARE BROKEN
THE FAR AFT FUSELAGE BULKHEAD IS SUSPECT, BECAUSE THE JACKSCREW ARMS AND PLASTIC TAILCONE CLOSE-OUTS WERE BOTH ATTACHED HERE. WE WILL PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT, AT NO CHARGE, FROM OUR USED STOCK, JUST IN CASE YOU WANT TO REPLACE IT.
REMEMBER, THE ENTIRE REST OF THE AIRPLANE IS UNDAMAGED!!
THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE CABIN !!
NO DAMAGE TO EITHER WING, THE CONTROL SURFACES OR THE WINGTIPS
ALL 3 LANDING GEAR IS INTACT AND UNDAMAGED
BOTH UPPER AND LOWER FIBERGLASS COWLINGS ARE INTACT
ALL OF THE GLASS IS INTACT
SO REALLY, IT IS THE WHOLE AIRFRAME !!
THE 0-360 ENGINE WAS UNBOLTED FROM IT"S ENGINE MOUNT, WITH ALL OF IT"S BOLT-ON ACCESSORIES, AND IS NOT INCLUDED.
THE ENGINE WAS PROFESSIONALLY REMOVED, WITH PLANS TO REPLACE IT, SO THE ENGINE MOUNT IS INTACT, AND UNDAMAGED
ALL OF THE ENGINE CONTROL CABLES AND ELECTRICAL WIRES WERE UNBOLTED, NOT CUT, SO REINSTALLATION OF YOUR CHOICE OF ENGINE AND PROP, (FIXED PITCH OR EVEN CONSTANT SPEED) WILL BE A DIRECT BOLT BACK IN !!
