2013/2017 PIPISTREL VIRUS SW, ONLY 89.5 SNEW !! PARACHUTE! FRONT FUSELAGE AND GEAR DAMAGED, WHOLE PROJECT CHEAP!!THE PIPISTREL VIRUS IS A CROSS COUNTRY CABABLE EXPERIMENTAL WITH EXCELLENT GLIDE CHARACTERISTICS, GREAT FOR GENERAL FLYING/CRUISING AS WELL AS MOTOR-GLIDING!!THIS AIRPLANE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE 10 METER WINGS, ALLOW FOR A CRUISE SPEED OF 170 MPH, BUT ARE STILL LONGER THAN SOME OF THE SIMILAR COMPETITION, FOR BETTER GLIDE PERFORMANCE.A UNIQUE FEATURE OF THIS AIRPLANES ARE THE BUILT IN DIVE BRAKES, WHICH ALLOW THE AIRPLANE TO COME OUT OF ALTITUDE UNDER CONTROL AND AT A CONTROLLED SPEED. These pop up brakes also aid in slowing the airplane on final approach, after the runway is made.THIS KIT WAS DELIVERED IN 2013, BUT THE AIRPLANE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND SIGNED OFF FOR FLIGHT UNTIL 12/2017, WHICH IS WHY WE SAY 2013/2017. ALL OF THE 89.5 HOURS OF FLIGHT TIME WAS IN 2018.UNFORTUNATELY, A LANDING NEAR THE END OF 2018 WAS NOT VERY SUCCESSFUL. LANDING HARD ON ALL 3 GEAR, THE MAIN GEAR “HOOP”, WHICH IS MADE OF FIBERGLASS BROKE ON THE RIGHT SIDE, WHICH ALLOWED THE AIRCRAFT TO ANGLE DOWN ON THE RIGHT, WHICH CAUSED A GROUNDLOOP. THE NOSE GEAR, WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE MOUNT, FOLDED SIDEWAYS, DAMAGING THE TUBULAR ENGINE MOUNT AND BREAKING THE NOSE FORK (THE WHEEL AND THE CHROME NOSE TUBE BOTH STILL LOOK OK).THE SIDELOAD FROM THE GROUNDLOOP, COMBINED WITH THE HARD INITIAL JOLT, DAMAGED THE FORWARD FUSELAGE, FORWARD OF THE DASH, AND SEPARATED THE FIREWALL PARTIALLY FROM THE CABIN.THIS SAME IMPACT BROKE THE WINDSCREEN, BUT THAT’S ABOUT WHERE THE DAMAGE ENDED.FROM THE CABIN FORWARD OF THE DOORS TO THE TAIL, THERE IS HARDLY ANY DAMAGE!THE DOORS CLOSE AND LATCH WELL, AND THE GLASS IN THE DOORS IS UNDAMAGED.THE BELLY HAS VERY MINOR DAMAGE, ALTHOUGH THE LIGHT AND 1 ANTENNA ARE BROKEN.THE WINGS ARE 100% INTACT, WITH THE ONLY APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE VERY TIP OF THE RIGHT WING, WHERE THE NAV LIGHT TORE OFF AND THE DROOP OF THE TIP HAS SOME LIGHT DAMAGE TO THE FIBERGLASS.THERE IS NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE SPARS OR MAIN SKINS, AND THE POP UP DIVE BRAKES ARE UNDAMAGED.THE HORIZONTAL AND ELEVATORS ARE NOT BROKEN, AND THERE ARE JUST A COUPLE OF SMALL CRACKS IN THE GELCOAT, PROBABLY PRE-EXISTING, AS THE AIRPLANE DID NOT FLIP OVER.THE RUDDER STRUCTURE IS STRAIGHT, WITH A CRACK AT THE INTREGAL BOTTOM “CAP” ONLYTHE TAILCONE AND VERTICAL FIN ARE UNDAMAGED.THE VIRUS HAS THE OPTION OF A GRS ROCKET POWERED WHOLE AIRFRAME PARACHUTE, AND THIS AIRCRAFT HAS IT INSTALLED!!!!! THIS SYSTEM, WHICH LOWERS THE WHOLE AIRPLANE, WITH IT’S OCCUPANTS INTACT, IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, IS COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED AND STILL FULLY INSTALLED!!THE GRS PARACHUTE SYSTEM SELLS FOR $4,995 ALONE!!INSIDE, THE SEATS, IN 2 TONE BLUE AND GREY, ARE BEAUTIFUL !!!MATCHING STICK BOOTSTHERE ARE CARBON FIBRE SURFACES EVERYWHERE.THE DASH IS EMPTY OF INSTRUMENTS, BUT THE CONSOLE STILL HAS THE SWITCHES AND CIRCUIT PROTECTION INSTALLED.ALL OF THE CONTROLS, INCLUDING STICKS, THROTTLE, RUDDER PEDALS, ETC.
