** I AM RE-LISTING & HAVE LOWERED THE PRICE TO WHAT I HAVE INVESTED IN THIS AIRFRAME. HAVE TO MOVE IT FROM ITS CURRENT WAREHOUSE ASAP, SO AM MOTIVATED TO SELL **
This is truly a one-of-a-kind offering that would be the centerpiece for any military aircraft collection. This is the nose section from a real U.S. Navy A-7B Corsair II light attack aircraft, BuNo 154456. The airframe was in derelict condition when found five years ago...no canopy, radome, avionics. What it DID have was 20+ years of desert sand in it! The cockpit was sent to Century of Flight restoration services where, over the course of two years, she was brought back to life.
Completely cleaned inside and out, and then blasted down to the bare metal, the nose gear was removed to accommodate a mounting point for an extremely sturdy, custom-built frame with heavy-duty casters. The entire aircraft can easily be rolled/moved by one person. The interior and exterior were then primed and painted to reflect an A-7B serving in VA-205 in the late 70s/early 80s.
All avionics were taken apart, cleaned, painted and look showroom new. Gunsight has been fitted with LED lighting...allowing you to keep gunsight reticle on without overheating. Refueling probe freely moves. ESCAPAC seat has been restored with the same attention to detail as the rest of the aircraft. Purchase includes a complete radar w/ NOS dish, and LTV-produced canopy support strut.
I am confident that there is no finer A-7 out there, and it"s not really a stretch to say you could not replicate this aircraft today...at least in terms of attention to detail and completness. Professionally restored, with accurate parts...most in and of themselves VERY difficult to find. This cockpit was professionally appraised at $50K last month. Complete details will be afforded serious buyers. Please, if you"re a tire-kicker, or can"t afford this rare airframe, don"t bother.
Good luck!
