1959 Cessna This listing is for a never installed Avcon conversion kit for an original design 172..

Item specifics
Condition: Used Model Year: 1959
Make: Cessna
This listing is for a never installed Avcon conversion kit for an original design 172. The auction does not include an aircraft. The parts are all PMA"d from FAA as this is an older kit. It is registered to aircraft November 6187echo. It is transferable to any "flat firewall" Cessna with previously installed Continental 145 or O300, including 170 or 172 . The purpose of the conversion is to install an O360 Lycoming in place of the Continental. Included is the STC paperwork, the kit, the propeller called for in the STC, as well as the lower cowling. The STC calls for an O360A4A or A4M. The cowling is used but the propeller is new. Included in the kit is everything Avcon sends you for the conversion when you buy it. Many components are not shown in the pic."s only the main items. Many i unwrapped from plastic for the first time for pictures. I will also be selling a 0 smoh 0360 A4K which has been converted to an A4M in a future auction. You are welcome to come and inspect these items and i recommend you do. Bring your mechanic, or there is one on the field, as i will not guarantee airworthiness of any parts. This auction could end early as this is advertised elsewhere. So bid early.
I have had multiple inquiries regarding transferability of this item to other aircraft. I requested additional information from the company and received the following in response:
To answer your question ; The STC paperwork stays with the conversion kit, not the plane if it wasn’t installed .The STC paperwork (kit) , is transferable to another owner (Plane) .We would need something from you stating that you have sold the uninstalled kit, and the plane it will be installed on, if you know it at the time of the sale.
The purchaser of the kit and STC papers, can have the STC transferred to their aircraft also .
This is from the owner of Avcon and i hope this answers every ones questions. I still recommend you all do your own homework. I am not an IA or A&P and make no claims that any parts are "serviceable" or "airworthy".
Terms of auction are $500 deposit through paypal at the end of the auction. Deposit is not refundable. Balance in cash on pickup. Pickup time is flexible but would prefer within 30 days. I would consider shipping this to you for cost if you supply the box. It would be a BIG box. Items are located at Warsaw, Mo. airport. I will not be responsible for damage in shipping especially for the prop. Please only bid on this item if you have the means to pay for it and get it home. If you need other payment arrangements contact me. Thank you! And Happy Winter Flying!
