“Good. For legal reasons, sold as parts only”
Mid 80"s build Rotorway in good condition. It has had several upgrades including the Behuncik Belt drive and accompanying secondary. This eliminated the chain and oil bath setup that were prone to leaking and the secondary drive breaks. It also has a new reinforced tail boom after the original developed a minor kink the non-reinforced originals are prone to. New tail rotor blades - tail rotor belts and main drive belts are also fairly new. New and uninstalled elastomeric bearings still in the package accompany the sale. These alone are $1,000 new. Everything is present, including both doors. The blades are in their storage boxes, ready to be mounted, tracked and balanced after they reach their destination. I took them off to transport from my old hangar to the pole barn that it currently resides in. I didn"t want to put them back on since it will most likely have to be transported again on the road and towing with blades on is not recommended. I do have a Garmin GNS-530 Nav/Com and an L3 Lynx ADS-B ready transponder available. They are not currently installed in the helicopter and would be an extra for those looking to fly legally in Class A, B and some class C airspaces.
Please no dreamers. You need to have a Pilot"s License to fly this aircraft. Even though it falls under the Experimental Aircraft home built category, you still need the proper training and an FAA Rotorcraft endorsement on your license. The new owner will need to update its registration and tail number with the FAA and most likely have an examiner sign off on its flight worthiness.
The airframe and engine have about 55 hours on them. The aircraft will need an annual inspection, which I believe will pass without any issues. I have all logs and receipts. It hasn"t flown in some time, but I start it up and run it up to 100% RPM engine and rotor speed about every six months. I let my license lapse as I just don"t have time to enjoy it anymore. It starts right up and does not leak. I have owned this for about 13 years and made quite a few (and expensive) upgrades.
Trailer shown is not included. Must pick up from Delton, Michigan. No surprises or disappointments. I welcome and encourage any inspections prior to sale. I can be reached at for additional information. Thanks for looking.
