Item specifics
Condition: Used Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
The Franklin O-805 was an American air-cooled aircraft piston engine, designed in the mid-1940s and was to be used in radio-controlled pilot less drones that were to be guided from an accompanying control plane. Due to project requirement changes and cancellations the engine was not produced in mass.
General characteristics: 12-cylinder air-cooled horizontally opposed aircraft piston engine, displacement 805 cu. in., air-cooled, 450 hp.
This engine is part of a family estate. It has been stored indoors and not subject to corrosion or other elements. This engine is complete with intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, carburetors and Hartzell propeller. The engine is a rarity. Our research has shown possibly only 16 were manufactured.
