“1941 Luscombe 8C. Includes most major components. Continental A75-9 engine. Very desireable pre-war rag wings with factory tank installation. 1310 gross weight puts it right at the upper limit for Light Sport, Includes very nice used landing gear. Needs glass, propeller. Good carry through spars and gear box. Holding fixture in pictures NOT included. I have a starter for the engine available for additional charge.”
Make: Luscombe Model Year: 1941
Interesting plane built Dec 3, 1941. In the months prior to WWII Luscombe was completing as many planes as they could before the war broke out and it made for some interesting build combinations. It was built as an 8A but with an 8D fuselage so it has a trim tab instead of the bungee trim and stamped instrument panel, similar to post war planes. Later had the engine upgraded to 75hp and model change to 8C. When the 11.5 gal wing tanks were added it was configured identical to a factory built 8D but model number wasn"t changed. Has 1310 gross weight which is only 10 pounds short of the light sport limit of 1320. Would also be a good candidate for an engine upgrade. Has dishpan firewall that would allow installation of starter. Last log book entry is from 1983 and shows 2354 hr TT. Previous owner started repairs and installed skins for "D" windows in fuselage. Holding fixture shown in photos NOT included in sale. I do have the very rare starter that fits the -9 engine I would sell to the successful bidder for an additional charge. Also have many additional spares that would be available to purchase separately.
