1946 AERONCA 7AC CHAMP, LIGHT SPORT, 2972 TT, 511 SINCE REFURBISH/RECOVER, DAMAGE TO WING LE, CHEAP
THIS 1946 CHAMP 7AC WAS REFURBISHED AND RECOVERED IN CECONITE AND PAINTED 511 HOURS AGO, IN 1993.
USED AND MAINTAINED FULLY AND REGULARLY SINCE THEN.
LAST ANNUAL WAS 7/1/2015, AND IT HAS 10 HOURS SINCE THEN
LIGHT SPORT QUALIFIED
THIS AIRPLANE WAS HAND PROPPED OUTSIDE OF ITS OPEN T- HANGER 10/18/2015. UNFORTUNATELY, THE AIRPLANE JUMPED THE CHOCKS, AND TAXIED INTO THE OPEN T-HANGER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ALLEYWAY.
BOTH WING LEADING EDGES IMPACTED THE SIDE EDGES OF THE "T" AT THE SAME TIME, SO THERE IS LEADING EDGE DAMAGE TO EACH WING.
IN ADDITION, THERE IS SOME SAGGING AND WRINKLING OF THE FABRIC AFT OF THE REAR WINDOWS, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FUSELAGE, SO THERE IS PRESUMED LONGERON DAMAGE IN THE FUSELAGE SIDE AREA.
THERE IS A DENT IN THE FORWARD LEFT LIFT STRUT ON THE LEFT SIDE
DUE TO THE ANGLE OF THE WINGS TO THE SIDE OF THE HANGER EDGES, THE FRONT OF THE AIRPLANE HAS NO DAMAGE !!
THE A-65 ENGINE HAS BEEN REMOVED, AND IS NOT INCLUDED, BUT THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE COWLINGS OR NOSEBOWL, NO DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL OR ENGINE MOUNT.
ALL OF THE GLASS IS GOOD, AND THERE IS NO CRACKING FROM THIS INCIDENT
THE HEADLINER AND SEATS WERE REFURBISHED, AND LOOK GOOD.
THE DASH AND INSTRUMENTATION ARE VERY CLEAN
THE LANDING GEAR AND MAIN GEAR ATTACH POINTS ARE UNDAMAGED
ALL 3 LANDING GEAR ARE UNDAMAGED, AND THE MAIN WHEELS HAVE THE RARE WHEEL PANTS !!
AILERONS, RUDDER, HORIZONTALS AND ELEVATORS ARE UNDAMAGED.
THE PAINT THAT WAS APPLIED AT THE REFURB IN 1993 APPEARS TO HAVE HAD TOO LITTLE FLEX AGENT ADDED, AS THE FINISH IS CRACKING ON SOME OF THE FABRIC COVERED SURFACES. IN ADDITION, YOU WILL SEE ACCESS HOLES CUT IN THE WINGS AND MID FUSELAGE, SO THAT THOSE AREAS COULD BE VIEWED CLEARLY. ONLY THE FABRIC WAS CUT, NOT THE FRAMEWORK.
LOGBOOKS SINCE 1972 ARE INCLUDED, AS ARE 337"S, KEYS, AND FAA BILL OF SALE.
THIS IS A REASONABLE REPAIR ON A VERY NICELY DONE AIRPLANE.
PUT AN A-65 BACK IN IT, OR UPGRADE TO 85,90,OR0-200 !!
