1967 Beechcraft Musketeer A-23-19 Serial # MB-194, Registration N4762J;
Here"s the whole story -- I"m not holding back anything. Lycoming 0320-E2C Serial #L17024-27A.Only 2350 Hours on Airframe and 330 Hours on Engine SMOH.Bought this airplane for my winter restoration project. -- New custom reupholstered interior including updated color scheme, new carpet, new headliner, updated seats, new side panels. -- Buffed and touched up paint, stripes, numbers and decals. -- Mechanic and I went through the aircraft inch by inch. -- Fresh oil change, new baffles and filters for the engine. Rebuilt right magneto. -- All flight cables checked and lubed -- replaced aileron push rod ends.
So we spent all winter getting Mickey the Musketeer ready to fly. We pulled him out of the hangar to the inspection shop -- he was waiting for annual and...
BOOM a Direct Lightening Strike to the Comm Antenna.
The lightening destroyed the comm antenna, blew out the right navigation light and traveled down the gear and jumped from the axels to the tie downs causing the asphalt to explode upwards into the bottom of the wings.
The airplane may need new wings. They at least need a bottom re-skin.The comm antenna needs replaced.The avionics have been removed.
And it needs gone through again to see if there is any other hidden damage. It doesn"t look bad -- No interior damage -- engine runs fine, but I just do not have it in me to re-do this plane again.
BUY IT FOR THE ENGINE AND CONSIDER THE REST A BONUS.
Make me an offer and do the inspections/repairs and you will have a nice flying 4 seater.
