“Out of annual. Missing logs for airframe, engine, & prop. Good paint and fair interior (see photos). Hangared but not flown for last 10 years.”
Make: Cessna Model: 182N
Model Year: 1970
Selling this 1970 Cessna 182 Skylane on behalf of the estate of the owner who died a year ago.
We"ve not been able to locate any maintenance logbooks, and we must assume they are lost. The tachometer shows 2082 hours, but we don"t know if this relates to an actual airframe or engine time. Total airframe, engine, and prop hours are unknown. The engine is a "Factory Rebuilt" Continental O-470 certified for 80-87 fuel. Judging from a maintenance receipt, we believe the engine has 900-1000 hours SMOH. The owner did replace both wing tank fuel bladders; there is no evidence or odors of fuel seepage.
The airplane has been hangared since the owner purchased it, but we don"t belive the aircraft has been flown or the engine run during that time - approximately 10 years. We recall the owner saying there was a problem with the engine - causing it to run rough and backfire, but we have not attempted to run the engine or have it diagnosed. We had an A&P mechanic do a borescope of the engine cylinders who reported significant corosion on the cylinder walls and recommended the engine be overhauled or replaced. The starter does turn the engine. The prop can be pulled through by hand without unusual resistance or noises. There are no noticeable nicks, dings, or oil leaks on the prop. The main gear wheel pants are included and are in good shape; removed to permit ease of access to air valves as the tires no longer hold pressure well.
Avionics (untested): King - KMA-20 Audio Panel, (2) KX-170B NavComs, KN-64 DME, KR-85 ADF, KT-76 Transponder, Century 2000 Autopilot, Phoenix LORAN receiver
The exterior paint is in good shape - probably a 6-7 on a 10 scale with no significant damage other than a few minor hangar dings here and there. The interior is dated with faded and shedding carpet, but overall, the upholstery is serviceable - proably a 4-5.
