“nice, reliable, grumman traveler, the fast year”
Make: Grumman AA5 Traveler Model Year: 1975
4880 TT, Approx. 260 hours TSMOH by Triad Aviation. Mac 1700 nav/com, Narco Mk 120 TSO Nav/com, KN62DME, King transponder, EI FL5 fuel flow meter, Century 1 Autopilot, Sigtronic SPA400 intercom, aluminum overlay dash, Airtex interior, Apollo GPS VFR only slaved to autopilot, Alpha-beam landing light, upgraded high compression STC along with upgraded Sensenitch prop. Have flown this plane for the last 5 years and enjoyed every minute of it, low cost flier burns 8 gal per hour at cruise. Solid air plane for time building or IFR training (has not been certfied since I have owned it but the equipment is there). I have flown this airplane to Oshkosh and back from S.C. and to Ohio many times.Dont have time to fly anymore. I set my fuel burn at 8 gal per hour thanks to the EI FL5 and cruise at 120, I have seen over 200 mph with a nice tail wind. This is not a hangar queen and it is not cosmetically perfect but it looks nice taxiing by and flys hands off.not sure what the ceiling is but have been as high as 12500 ft with 3 aboard. Climbs well at about a 1000 to 1200 fpm solo and rarley have I found an air strip that I cant land at. I have landed at Stantons BBQ here in S.C. with no issue (2300 grass). I really cant say enough about this plane, if you need a good solid dependable airplane, this is it. There is a small fuel leak on the Co-pilots side wing that needs sealed, this is common for grummans, other than that, this plane needs nothing and can be flown home at any time. Plane includes the usual extras.
