“NEEDS NEW SAIL CLOTH, SOME CABLES, ETC.”
Make: Maxair Model Year: 1982
I have a 1982 Maxair hummer ultralight. It does need work to fly. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago at an auction. It looks like a lot of good effort was put into building this thing. I bought it to save it from scrap metal buyers and I wanted to tinker with the engine that was on it. Needless to say I underestimated its size and it takes up WAY too much room in my garage. The ultralight does need new sail cloth (ripped and aged) and some cables for sure. Outside of that I couldn"t be sure. (I know very little about this stuff) What you see is what you get (outside of a 3 bladed prop that is not show). The airframe is 21" long and the wing is 34" long but folds in the middle to a still lengthy 17". The stamp plate said this was a Zenoah G25B1 engine. It has been pointed out by a fellow Ebayer that this is in fact NOT a Zenoah G25B but is a 2 cylinder engine of unknown manufacturer. I cannot find any markings of manufacturer on it. It is NOT frozen but I have not tried to run it so I cannot be sure of its condition. You will need a big trailer or uhaul to haul this thing. If I don"t sell it I will have to scrap it for aluminum myself as it takes up half of my garage and I need it out to get a vehicle in for winter. Thanks for looking! :)
