“Came from estate, executor did not have registration paper work. The Challenger II is complete and can probably physically fly, but will need to be re-conditioned 51% and re-registered as a home built if you wish to fly it.”
Make: Quad City Model Year: 2002
Selling this Challenger II from an estate close. Originally from Tenessee, and was brought up here to NY by the last owner. Owner kept it in a homemade hanger on his farm. It had not been flown for several years as of last Fall when I acquired it. I got everything he had with it. Unfortunately, his wife did not have any registration or log books with it after he passed away, and I purchased the plane as a parts plane only, which is how it sells now. No warranty is expressed or implied.
Has a Rotax 503 that fired right up for us when I picked it up.The owner had crash landed it in his cornfield, and replaced the nose cone, also patched the covering on the body. Has a wooden Normandy, TN prop. Hour gauge says 375 hrs, that is the only clue I have to hours on it. I dont think he flew it much from what the neighbors told me.
There is no chute. It does not have floats. Number on overhead frame bar reads QQA20028. The hanger it was stored in had rats and vermin, so the Challenger is dirty and will need to be reconditioned. The frame appears straight, and the motor runs. I have doors for the cockpit. 2 seater plane with rear wheel. One of the tires is shot. This is about all I know of the Challenger II. I am NOT a pilot and have not flown it. I do not have answers on restoring, registering or flying this plane. You are bidding on it as an aluminum frame with engine and controls. Will it fly as it is? I believe so, but from my understanding will need to be essentially rebuilt to be re-registed if that is your intent. My plan would be to sell it to an Challenger II owner who would like an affordable spare plane for a complete bundle of spares frame pieces, engine and wings.
I am selling it as it is with Rotax 503 engine and frame as you see it, along with some small extras that I have with it. I have it stored currently in Batavia, NY. It is listed locally.
Thanks. Please understand bidding is a contract to purchase, and bidding without intention to follow through and pickup the aircraft will result in the loss of $350 PayPal deposit. Final amount is due in Cash upon pickup. My number is 585 322 6331, I"m flexible and happy to work with you to the best of my ability. $350 Deposit due within 24hrs of Auction Close via PayPal.Call me if you win and we can discuss holding time and other arrangements as necessary. Remember, buyer must pick up the plane!
