“This is a 1995 home built aircraft the paint was a thin coat originally and is a 5 out of 10. The gear was originally conventional and I ground looped it, taxiing and decided to convert to tricycle gear. The damage was wing tip and first rib, and bent main gear. The repair work was done by an IA.”
Make: Avid Model Year: 1995 Bandit
This aircraft was purchased from the original owner 3 years ago. It has a EA 81 Subaru 100 hp engine with the stratus conversion. The carbs have been rebuilt the reduction belt replaced along with all hoses and alt belts. This plane has folding wings and will fit in most any single carport. Total airframe time is 868.7 and engine time is 705. It has a King com/gps and hard wired intercom. No transponder has ever been installed. I installed a new back up fuel pump and converted it to a tricycle gear. I built a swivel wheel bracket to support the tail when the wings are folded. It is easy to maneuver around with this installed. The fuel burn is under 5 gallons of auto fuel an hour at 85 to 90 mph cruise. This is an easy handling responsive little 2 seater. The upholstery is not so great. The material looks like a tan terry cloth towel material. I have the original gear and wheel covers and maule tail wheel to go with plane. It also has transport wing braces which support the wings if transported on a trailer.
