“Very good condition, needs very minor repair to be air-worthy”
Make: Experimental
I have a Avid Flyer Speedwing for sale that I built over about a 3 year period and finishing it in 1992. It has about 330 hours on the airframe and the engine has about 35 hours on a new longblock. I sold the airplane to a guy down in Emporia when the aircraft had about 120 hours on it and eventually bought it back about 5 or 6 years ago when it had about 300 hours on it mostly for sentimental reasons. I haven’t flown it much and it hasn’t been started in about a year although I do go out and flip the prop over a few times every now and then. The fabric is in good shape as the plane has always been stored inside a dark garage when not in use however there are a couple tapes with loose edges that need to be glued back down and a friend of mine poked a small hole in the underside of the fabric at the leading edge that would be an easy repair. I don"t have any materials to do the repair but it will be an easy fix. I wouldn’t hesitate to fly the airplane the way it is. It is not a show plane by any means but I would consider the workmanship to be very good to excellent. The registration is expired so you would have to re-register the airplane, due to illness in the family I neglected to renew. At this point I have lost interest in aviation and am perusing other things as well as I’m tired of dealing with the medical every year. I feel bad that the airplane is not being flown and would like to see someone take over and have fun with it. It will take very little work to have it ready to fly again, no more than a weekend project, no major problems. There is a towbar that is included to pull the aircraft behind your car if you want to keep it at home. P.S the tail-wheel you see in some pictures is for convenience only as the aircraft gets tail heavy with the wings folded back and the wheel makes it easy to push around. The tail wheel needs to be taken off before flight. I accept Paypal or cash only. Local pickup only - I will not ship it Larry Kraft 913-375-8899
