This Franklin was rebuilt and test run and is waiting for a project. Rebuilt initially for an experimental Aeronca C-3 replica that never got started. The engine has the vintage look with its outside oil lines and vintage wiring harness. It is an experimental Franklin 4ac-176 65 hp engine. Cylinders reconditioned and fitted with new auto pistons , as original pistons are a no go. The rods were reconditioned with clevite bearings and pressed wrist pins. The crank is a .010 under with new bearings, the celeron cam gear is new, the celeron magneto gears are new. The rod and crankshaft bearings were molybdenum coated, the magnetos were reconditioned and the stromberg carburetor was rebuilt. Twelve point head ARP bolts were used on the cylinders to crankcase for ease of maintenance. The propeller is airworthy. The engine mount is an experimental J-3 mount. All gaskets new, the engine was assembled by an A&P, A&I mechanic.
