This aircraft control wheel was removed from a Lockheed C-141 Starlifter military strategic cargo airplane that served the Military Air Transport Service (MATS), its successor organization the Military Airlift Command (MAC), and finally the Air Mobility Command (AMC) of the United States Air Force (USAF). The C-141 also served with airlift and air mobility wings of the Air Force Reserve (AFRES), later renamed the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), the Air National Guard (ANG) and, later one air mobility wing of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) dedicated to C-141, C-5, C-17 and KC-135 training. It is complete and all switches seem to be functional. It has been modified to incorporate a plate with a clamp to secure maps or check-lists and a plastic overlay over the plate to protect the logo that identifies it as a C-141 control wheel. This 1/8 inch plastic overlay has a crack in it as shown by the red arrow in photo # 4 at the top of the overlay but it is held in place by 3 screws. The weight of the wheel with shipping materials will be 7 pounds. This wheel is offered strictly for static display and is not certified for flight or offered with any guarantee whatsoever. Item may be returned. within 5 business days of receipt if returned in undamaged and unmodified condition and if buyer agrees that all shipping and insurance costs to and from buyer’s location and all Ebay and PayPal fees associated with this transaction that are not refunded to the seller will be deducted from the buyer`s refund payment.
Payment in US currency is required within seven days of auction closing unless the buyer makes other arrangements with the seller.
The buyer is responsible for noting any damage to the shipping container and settling any shipping damage, loss, or delayed delivery claims with the carrier and seller will assist if necessary.
