“U.S. Navy Link Trainer is a part of history. Has been stored in the dry, Wings need recover, other repairs to be ready for museum display. Could be operating without a lot of work.”
Make: U.S. Navy WWll Flight Simulator Model Year: 1943
According to the Western Museum of Flight. The Link CO. delivered 6,271 trainers to the Army, but only 1,045 to the Navy. Very few of the Navy trainers are still around. The pilots who trained in this very trainer, went on to battle Japan in the Pacific Islands. I think this Link was used at the Great Lakes Naval Air Station. ( If anyone can tell by the serial number, let me know I will post I here.) This is not the Army trainers seen on Ebay from time to time priced in the 5,000 dollar range, so is priced higher.
