Item specifics
Condition: New
Listed is a Hexadyne P60 airplane engine for use on ultralights, paragliding quads or trikes, or hovercraft. Engine was built in July 2015 and we paid over $8,000 for it. The engine has less than an hour of testing on it and it works well. Engine was manufactured in Salt Lake City, UT and it is a very reliable engine. We had it installed on a hovercraft (not ever used) and decided to sell it since it is too much of an engine for the small hovercraft that we installed it on. Also, the company Hexatron Engineering has gone out of business but we even have extra parts so you can rebuild the engine and get two life"s out of it! It is currently programmed (EFI) for use with a hovercraft propeller. The gear reduction is currently set for approximately 2,700 blade rpm but included is another gear that lowers the blade RPM for use of a aircraft propeller as seen in video below. By changing the gear reduction you would also want to change retune the EFI which could be done using the existing ECU or optionally your own ECU. The ECU that comes with the unit is stock from the manufacturer. We are still in contact with the manufacturer"s production manager so it is possible to get additional technical information.
Stats:
60 hp
4 stroke
Fuel injection
Oil Cooled
Current Gear Reduction Ratio: 1.8 (around 2750 prop RPM @ 5000 rpm engine max)
Optional Gear (included with sale): 2.2 (around 2260 prop RPM @ 5000 rpm engine max)
Weight: around 120 lbs including the peripherals
Included with the unit is:
Engine
Fuel Pump & Necessary Fuel Components
Stand (for our craft which could be adapted or used as template)
Oil Pressure Gauge
Fuel/Air Mix Control Box
All electrical can be left in place with switch
Spare parts to rebuild engine.
Exhaust as seen in photos
Perhaps more, please ask.
Here is a link to the P60 engines on Youtube to see the type of craft it has been used on (video is of the P60 engine same as listed, but not the actual engine you"d received since this one is obviously new):
here ask with any questions. As stated before, we"re willing to take a loss on this craft as we paid over $8,000 for it. It works for our craft but we need to use engines that are still produced since we are a manufacturer.
UPDATE 10/30/16. Contact at manufacturer is not responding so we"re selling this engine without us assisting with CPU reprogramming. If your application requires a different prop RPM you will need to figure out a way to reprogram the CPU or install a completely difference CPU. I have lowered the price accordingly...no reserve.
