“This airplane was recovered and re-assembled with many new parts and a rebuilt engine in 2009. Just not going to find many other Colts at this price in this condition.”
Make: Piper Model Year: 1963
1963 Piper Colt, Nice condition, 132 + hours since overhaul, totally recovered in 2009. Airframe inspected, painted per specs, copies of all 337"s. New front glass, new prop at engine rebuild. Purchased it for my kids to earn their pilots license, lost interest. Has flown regularly. Needs annual, don"t need it anymore, needs to go to either a new pilot or just for fun pilot. Easy to fly, simple controls. Moving map GPS, shoulder harness"s, digital radio with flip/flop, P.T.T., Vacuum pump, ETC... . Pictures tell the story. I don"t have time for it and would like to see someone flying her on a regular basis. Will need a ferry permit or take wings off to trailer it. Most A.D."s retired, sealed struts, Tail wires, ETC... . It has a useful load of almost 600 lbs., you sit in it like a 172 with good shoulder room, 34 Gal. Tanks. This is not a trainer type aircraft, good VFR flyer. I know I could get more by selling it for parts. I"d rather see it keep flying. It"s been kept in a covered hanger, has one spot of hanger rash on right wing leading edge, (3" X 2"). It"s based near San Antonio, TX. Sale is "Where is, as is" if you win auction. You can keep the lease on the hanger if you want. You"ll have to contact the airport.
