Item specifics
Condition: Used
I don"t know much about this helicopter. I am selling for a friend whose husband passed away and he bought this and never got around to it. It is a Rotorway Scorpion I Helicopter powered by a Johnson Evinrude Vulcan V4 outboard boat motor. The hobbs indicates over 161 hours on the aircraft however I am unable to verify if it is correct.
I was able to get the engine to run however it will need the carbs cleaned and a tune up(bottom carburetor not allowing fuel to feed 2 cylinders). See the link for a video of it running. I did install 4 new plugs and am including a brand new starter for the helicopter as well(old one appears to function fine and is currently installed). here > I was not able to get the push button on the gauge panel to work so I put a hot wire on the starter and connected it to the positive battery terminal(jumper cables). There appears to be several electrical issues that need to be addressed but they seem to be minor issues. I did remove the drive belts from the engine to start the helicopter to prevent any blade spin since we were inside of a building. The skins are no attached they are just set on the aircraft.
This would be a great father/son(daughter) project or someone looking for a hobby aircraft.
There are no log books with the aircraft and is being sold as is where is with no warranty or liability of the owner or seller going with the aircraft.
