“Airworthy flying and in average condition”
Make: Rutan Model Year: 1979
Up for bid is my personal traveling machine, at no reserve and low LOW starting bid! This past week marks the week that Burt Rutan showed up at Oshkosh with his original prototype of this design and shocked the homebuilt aviation community. A design that would still be considered "out of the box" and ahead of its times even if designed today!Unfortunately health issues have sidelined my flying and the time has come to move on.See the attached spec and info sheet for more details. This airplane has been flown all over the country. 1000+ hr proven airframe. No corrosion, always hangared.See John Lamberts RACE book. This airplane is on a few different pages in the book. Flown to a race speed of 206mph in the 1993 Wendover stock EZ class.I own this airplane 100% and all paperwork is in order. Airworthiness certificate, Registration, etc. Aircraft has flown recently, and I may be able to have it flown by a pilot friend of mine to its new owner. Please message me for more info.Serious bidding only please. This is not a toy, and is a relatively high performance little plane. It"s not hard to fly just different from a lot of other airplanes. Sold as is where is.Aircraft is listed locally and elsewhere and I may end auction early in the event of a local sale.
