1931 FLEET, GOLDEN AGE BIPLANE • FLY IT HOME • READY TO SELL NOW! THIS AIRPLANE IS FLOWN REGULARLY! I HAVE OVER $90,000 INVESTED, plus time and a lot of love in this airplane! She is a solid, and very reliable airplane! Built as a trainer, so it"s easy to fly! My price is 1/2 the price of most Waco"s, and 2/3"s the price of most Steaman"s! The Fleet is smaller and burns less fuel than either Waco"s or Stearman"s. She is actually 800 pounds lighter than a Stearman! She has a GREAT HISTORY starting from June 8th, 1931! - She is a Movie Star used in the movie "Clipped Wings" in 1937. Her last annual inspection was in August of 2015. regardless she will be sold with fresh annual, and you can come out to observe and assist in the Inspection! Engine time is @ 300 hours since major overhaul! This airplane is US BUILT and NOT CANADIAN Built! It is licensed in STANDARD/NORMAL CATEGORY! IT IS LEGAL TO SELL LOCAL SIGHTSEEING RIDES! POWERED BY A DEPENDABLE 220 HP Continental Engine! The Continental engine is known for it"s reliability and is as reliable an engine as any modern aircraft engine! Cruise speed is 95+ MPH at about 9 GPH! She has a NEW STARTER, NEW FUEL TANK, AND A NEW OIL TANK! SHE ALSO HAS A RARE Curtiss Reed metal Propeller! I have owned this airplane for more than 5 years. During that time I have taken hundreds of people for biplane rides! She really is a grand old bird and deserves a good home! This airplane was the culmination of a lifetime dream of mine to own and fly a true Golden Age Biplane. My only reason for selling is that I am now 66 years old and my wife and I wish to travel. When the Fleet is gone to a new home we will locate and buy a Swift of RV6 to make our traveling faster. I have truly enjoyed this period of my life and can honestly tell you that of all the people I have taken for a ride I have not had one complaint! To the contrary I have never landed the airplane with a passenger who was not smiling ear to ear! I have even flown one passenger who was a WASP during WWII, at 96 years old she was quite a lady! It is my hope that who ever buys the Fleet will give her a great home and that she will continue to introduce many people to the glorious feeling of open cockpit flying! Thank you very much!
