1946 Piper J3 Cub powered by a Cont 85hp . Have you ever heard the myth of the Piper J3 Cub with twin engines ? Some say it"s true and others say it never happen . Well you are viewing the actual Piper J3 Cub that had those twin engines .It was featured in the 1947 edition of Janes magazine .The last 2 pictures show the log entry in 1966 where the Nelson Air Corp installed and tested two H-63 4 cylinder two cycle air cooled engines .The Cub now has a Cont 85hp with 200SMOH ( 1986 ) . The total time is 1085 and counting . Also the Cub has sealed struts and slick mags .Just had a fresh annual completed with new tires and tubes ,new fuel lines and the carb overhauled . Compressions are 78/80 78/80 75/80 75/80 . The Cub runs and flies excellent .The fabric is in great shape .The paint is so so as you can see in the pics .The interior and panel are very nice with no tears or fading on the seats .all glass is in great shape . This J3 Cub belong to Mr Bundy and kept at Bundys air strip for maybe 30 years or more.
I can store the aircraft free for 30 days .Longer if needed with a hangar charge .Cruises 70 burning only 3.5 GPH so you can fly it home pretty cheap .
