#3940, 1947 Aeronca 11CC Chief Overview This 1947 Aeronca Model 11CC Chief, S/N 11CC-72 (N4170E,) is a very attractive low time, classic high- wing, fabric covered two-seat single engine aircraft. It features a yellow exterior with red stripes, a nice red leather and cloth interior with side-by-side seating and dual control yokes. The aircraft was recovered in accordance with Stits Poly-Fiber process during November 2009. The windscreen and all side windows are in good condition.
Upgrades include B&C key start electric starting, and Univair wing lift struts.
The airframe log book covers the period July 1970 to the present, including a large gap without activity from 1976 to 2009. The engine log book covers the period April 1972 to the present, including a gap without activity from April 1984 to 2009. This aircraft is offered for sale with a fresh annual inspection completed in September 2014. The aircraft is located at the Spirit of Saint Louis Airport (KSUS) in Chesterfield, MO.
