Overview

This 1947 Aeronca Model 11CC Chief, S/N 11CC-72 (N4170E,) is a very attractive low time, classic high-

wing, fabric covered two-seat single engine aircraft. It features a yellow exterior with red stripes, a

nice red leather and cloth interior with side-by-side seating and dual control yokes. The aircraft was

recovered in accordance with Stits Poly-Fiber process during November 2009. The windscreen and all

side windows are in good condition.

Upgrades include B&C key start electric starting, and Univair wing lift struts.

The airframe log book covers the period July 1970 to the present, including a large gap without activity

from 1976 to 2009. The engine log book covers the period April 1972 to the present, including a gap

without activity from April 1984 to 2009. This aircraft is offered for sale with a fresh annual inspection

completed in September 2014. The aircraft is located at the Spirit of Saint Louis Airport (KSUS) in

Chesterfield, MO.

Specifications

Cockpit instrumentation includes altitude, airspeed, vertical speed, turn and bank indicator,

compass, tachometer, oil pressure and temperature, exhaust gas temperature, cylinder head

temperature and amps.

Engine: Continental O-200-A, S/N 67899-7A, 4633 hr ETT, 44 hr SMOH.

Compression = 60/80, 70/80, 74/80 and 77/80.

Propeller: McCauley Model 1A105 (metal, fixed pitch), S/N 67899

can be available on weekends. (For weekends, you must call and schedule a time as we are normally

airplane at our St. Louis, MO headquarters prior to bidding. Please take advantage of this inspection

opportunity so you can make your own judgment. Your failure to do so is your problem, not ours.
