1954 Piper PA22/20 461 hours since complete a rebuild of the airframe and overhauls of the engine and of the propeller.
This aircraft is in excellent condition. It has been kept in an Arizona hangar since it was completely restored in 1991. The original 135 hp engine was replaced by a LYCON majored Lycoming 150 hp 0-320. The propeller was overhauled, The airframe was completely stripped, and the tubes were painted with epoxy and preserved inside. The wings had new Univair spars installed, Univair sealed struts STC, Univair tailwheel and main landing gear STC, Univair dual rudder petals and brakes STC, Cleveland wheels and disk brakes, Stewart wing tips STC, MicroAerodynamic vortex generators STC , Jensen battery box STC, Jensen fuel selector STC and Jensen battery cables STC were installed. New King KX155 NavCom Radio with integral intercom, King KT76A Transponder and a King KI209 indicator with Guide Slope were installed, All instruments were either new or overhauled, A new ELT was installed. A complete custom interior including carpet, seat upholstery, and headliner was installed. New seat belts with shoulder harnesses were installed. A new instrument panel using standard instrument configuration was installed, A wet vacuum system is installed. The airframe was recovered with Ceconite 102 fabric using the Stits finish on the wings, ailerons, flaps, horizontal tails and elevators. The fuselage and rudder was finished using the Blue River System so it has the usual Blue River appearance cracks. New engine baffles new cowl doors, new lower cowling, new fuselage floorboards,new fuselage boot cowl, new windshield, new side windows, and new Aeroflash strobes were installed, An overhauled exhaust system was installed. New hoses and hardware were installed. A 50 amp generator was installed. A oil filter system was installed. The oil cooler was relocated to behind the number four cylinder.
Piper Service Bulletins 573, 161a, 183, 362a, 148a, 181, 250, 351, 522, 573, 771, 528d, 910a and Piper Service Letters 400, 355, 324b, 362a, SP6 have all been complied with.
All modifications are approved by the applicable STCs or forms 337.
Next annual inspection is due in April 2016, The ELT Battery is due in Nov. 2016 and the transponder check is due in Feb 2018.
All log books since the aircraft was new are available. Engine compression at the last annual inspection was 76/80, 78/80, 76/80, 76/80. Total time Airframe 2377, Total time engine 3602, Time since major overhaul 461 hrs, time since prop overhaul 461 hrs.
