You are bidding on a little 1962 Mooney M20C that seems to have lost power on takeoff. The owner says he did something on this flight for some reason that he has never done before. He switched the tanks just before takeoff and the engine quit after rotation. Unfortunately the gear was already up and the plane settled back down on its belly. A couple of belly skins, the prop, and a couple of stringers are all that the plane needs to be put back in the air. A prop strike inspection, (not a complete tear down) and your ready to go.
The c model Mooney can do 150-155 knots hauling four people and do it with style and burning 9 gals an hour.
Aircraft is currently in Perry Oklahoma tied down. Can deliver for a fee.
Plane has 4230 total time and 1350 Smoh
There is an older set of Collins and they are 720ch Nav/com that works good. The transponder is an at50a and the adf is a King kr86. It also has an older Mooney wing leveler autopilot with a heading bug that works!
We installed my ferry prop and ran the engine numerous times and she ran fine. The fuel pressure gauge seems to be erratic. The plane seems to be ready to ferry but that decision is ultimately up to the pilot. The prop can be used to move the plane but I will need a 1500 dollar deposit until it is returned.
Have all of the log books for the plane back to date of build. Also have a ton of other paperwork that goes with it.
The plane is still in annual until September of this year so it’s not been sitting around.
