THE "E" MODEL MOONEY IS THE HIGH PERFORMANCE VERSION OF THE BASIC M20 AIRFRAME.
DESIGNED FOR THE 200 H.P. LYCOMING ENGINE, WHICH GIVES THE SUPER 21 AN INCREASE OF CRUISE SPEED OF 5-7 MPH OVER THE BASIC M20C.
THIS 1964 MOONEY M20E SUSTAINED DAMAGE WHEN THE ENGINE SPUTTERED ON TAKEOFF, AND THE AIRPLANE LOWERED BACK ONTO THE RUNWAY, WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED.
OF COURSE, SOME SCRAPING ENSUED
FORTUNATELY, IT WASNT A LOT OF SCRAPING !
THERE ARE SOME BELLY SKINS WITH SCRAPING AND DENTING, BUT THE CROSS BULKHEADS LOOK PRETTY GOOD. THE BELLY SKINS ON THIS AIRPLANE BOLT ON, THEY AREN"T RIVETED, SO REPLACEMENT OF THESE SKINS ARE VERY EASY !!
THERE IS SCRAPING TO THE NOSE GEAR DOORS, ONE SMALL SPOT ON EACH
ONE FLAP BRACKET IS SCRAPED ON THE BOTTOM, BUT THE FLAPS THEMSELVES ARE NOT DAMAGED
IN ADDITION THE TAIL RING IS SCRAPED.
THATS ALL THE DAMAGE !!
THE BALANCE OF THE AIRFRAME IS COMPLETELY UNDAMAGED !
NO WING SCRAPING OR DENTING
NO DAMAGE TO THE FLAPS OR AILERONS
NO DAMAGE TO THE TAIL, ELEVATORS OR RUDDER
NO DAMAGE TO ANY OF THE LANDING GEAR, WHEELS, OR DISC BRAKES. THE MAIN GEAR DOORS WERE REMOVED AT THE TIME, SO THEY ARE UNDAMAGED, AND INCLUDED.
THE FIREWALL, LOWER AND UPPER COWLS AND COWL FLAP ARE ALL UNDAMAGED
AS YOU CAN SEE, THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REMOVED (IT HAD A PROP STRIKE AND A POWER PRODUCTION PROBLEM) AND IS NOT INCLUDED.
ALL OF THE HOSES, LINES AND CONTROLS ARE STILL INSTALLED AND INCLUDED, AS SHOWN IN PHOTOS, AND THE LYCOMING ENGINE MOUNT IS UNDAMAGED AND INCLUDED.
INSIDE, THE SEATS AND INTERIOR ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION !
TWO TONE TAN VINYL SEATS, WITH THE HEADLINER AND INTERIOR PLASTIC IN FAR ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION !
AS YOU CAN SEE, THE AVIONICS WERE REMOVED, AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION, BUT THE TRAYS, WIRING AND ANTENNAS ARE STILL INSTALLED, AND ALL OF THE FLIGHT AND ENGINE INSTRUMENTATION IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND INTACT.
