THE S-35 BONANZA IS THE FASTEST NORMALLY ASPIRATED BONANZA BUILT!!
THE SPEED TRICKS LEARNED IN THE PRECEDING MODELS WERE GIVEN THE EXTRA BOAST IN THE S-35 WITH THE ADDITION OF THE IO-520 ENGINE!!
MANY OLDER BONANZAS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED WITH 520’S, BUT AS THEY WERE NOT DESIGNED FOR THIS MUCH POWER AND SPEED, THEY ARE OFTEN LACKING, IN FUEL CAPACITY, IN CG RANGE, IN REDLINE OR WORSE YET, IN STRUCTURAL STRENGTH. DON"T THINK YOU CAN AD AN IO-520 TO AN OLD S-35 AND HAVE THE SAME AIRPLANE AS AN S-35!
THE S-35 IS THE FIRST BONANZA DESIGNED FOR ALL THAT POWER, WITH ALL OF THE FACTORY MODS REQUIRED TO USE IT PROPERLY.
THE S-35 ALSO HAS:
NEW STYLE DASH, WITH NO PIANO KEYS, STANDARD INSTRUMENT ARANGEMENT AND CENTER STACK AVIONICS.
FOUR BUCKET SEATS, ALL WITH TRACKS FOR FORE AND AFT ADJUSTMENT.
ENLARGED REAR BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT, WITH NO SILLY HUMP IN THE MIDDLE.

THE S-35 CAME STANDARD WITH A FLAT 2 PIECE WINDSHIELD AND FRAME AROUND THE LEFT CALL WINDOW, BUT THIS AIRPLANE HAS THE SPEEDSLOPE WINDSHIELD UPGRADE AND HEAVY, FRAMELESS SIDE GLASS AS WELL.
THE SPEEDSLOPE WINDSHIELD ADDS CRUISE SPEED (ALREADY 200 MPH IN THE S-35), REDUCES NOISE, AND ADDS MORE VOLUME TO THE COCKPIT.
THIS AIRPLANE HAS THE 80 GALLON LONG RANGE FUEL, JUST LIKE ALL OF THE V-35 SERIES AFTER IT. (SIMPLE LEFT OR RIGHT, NOTHING TRICKY).
THIS AIRPLANE HAS BEEN OWNED BY THE SAME WOMAN FOR MANY, MANY YEARS.
BUT AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, YOU DO NOT GET CREDIT FOR HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY PUT THE GEAR DOWN, YOU HAVE TO DO IT EVERY TIME!!
SHE THINKS SHE HAD THE GEAR DOWN, BUT AN FBO EMPLOYEE NOTICED HER APPROACH WITH GEAR UP, TRIED TO GET ON THE RADIO TO WARN HER, BUT TOO LATE.
BY THE SCRAPING ON THE INBOARD GEAR DOORS, WHICH IS VERY LIGHT, SHE MAYBE REACTED AT THE LAST MOMENT WITH A DOWN SWITCH.
THE FLAPS WERE DOWN, AS YOU WOULD IMAGINE, SO THE INBOARD TRAILING EDGES ARE BOTH SCRAPED UP, AND THERE IS SCRAPING TO THE BOTTOM OF THE STEP AS WELL.
WHAT THERE IS VERY LITTLE OF IS SCRAPING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE AIRPLANE!!
THE NOSE GEAR DOORS ARE SCRAPED ON THE BACK 1/3, AND THE REAR SIDE OF THE GEAR WELL SKIN IS SCRAPED AS WELL.
BOTH EXHAUST TAILPIPES ARE FLATTENED, BUT THIS IS WHERE THE SCRAPING ENDS!!
THE PANEL IN THE CENTER THAT STARTS AT THE NOSEGEAR WELL IS THE ONLY PANEL WITH SIGNIFICANT SCRAPING, NOTHING AFT OF THAT!!!
THERE IS AN OLD ADF ANTENNA STILL ON THE BELLY, AT ABOUT THE MID POINT OF THE WING, AND IT WASN’T TOUCHED AT ALL!!
NO SCRAPING AT ALL TO ANY OF THE MIDDLE OR AFT BELLY, THE STEP AND THE FLAPS HELD THE BELLY UP!!!!!
AND THE STEP ATTACH POINT DOES NOT APPEAR WRINKLED OR TORN AT ALL.
THE INBOARD GEAR DOORS ARE THE VERY FIRST THING TO MOVE IN THE GEAR EXTENSION CYCLE, AND JUDGING BY THE SMALL AREA OF SCRAPING TO EACH, THEY BARELY MOVED.
THE NOSEGEAR ITSELF DIDN’T MOVE AT ALL, SO IT IS UNDAMAGED, AND THE MAINGEAR IS UNDAMAGED AS WELL.
CLEVELAND DOUBLE PUCK HEAVY DUTY BRAKES WITH SUPER-THICK CHROME ROTORS.
THERE IS NO SCRAPING TO THE NOSE BUG OR THE FORWARD PART OF THE NOSE DOORS OR NOSE WELL.
SO THE PROP IS BENT ON BOTH BLADES, BUT MORE THE TIPS THAN THE REAL MEAT. AN INSPECTION IS OF COURSE, REQUIRED
INSIDE, THE 4 INDIVIDUAL BUCKET SEATS ARE A MODERN MEDIUM GREY, AND HAVE BEEN UPDATED WITH VERY NICE LOOKING MODERN BOLSTERS, AND GATHERED LEATHER CENTERS. VERY NICE!
ON THE DASH, FOUR OF THE AVIONICS PANEL UNITS HAVE BEEN REMOVED, AND ARE NOT INCLUDED, BUT ALL 4 OF THOSE TRAYS ARE STILL INSTALLED AND WIRED, SO REPLACEMENT IS A SIMPLE SLIDE-IN AFFAIR IF YOU WANT TO GO BACK WITH THIS SAME EQUIPMENT.
THE TRAYS INSTALLED ARE FOR A GARMIN AUDIO PANEL, (2) MK 12D DIGITAL NAV-COMS, AND A NEW ADSB STRATUS ESG TRANSPONDER, WITH INSTALLED ADSB OUT AND ADSB IN TO IPAD.

AVIONICS STILL INCLUDED IN THE DASH INCLUDE A KING KMD 150 BIG SCREEN MOVING MAP GPS, WHICH SEEMS TO WORK VERY WELL, AS WELL AS A MAGELLEN GPS IN THE CENTER DASH, THAT TURNED ON OK, BUT I DIDN’T WAIT TO SEE IF IT WOULD AQUIRE.
THIS IS A GOOD LOOKING AIRPLANE INSIDE AND OUT, AND WAS THE OWNERS PRIDE AND JOY, SO MUCH SO THAT SHE ASKED THE FAA TO TRANSFER THE CUSTOM N NUMBER FROM THIS PLANE TO HER REPLACEMENT BONANZA. RIGHT OR WRONG, SHE ASKED THE FAA TO DEREGISTER THE AIRPLANE SO SHE COULD HAVE THAT NUMBER AND THEY DID, SO NOW YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY FOR A NEW REGISTRATION ONCE YOU REPAIR THE AIRPLANE. THE REGISTRATION CARD SHE SUBMITTED SHOWS THE AIRPLANE WAS NOT LISTED AS "SCRAPPED OR DESTROYED", AND SHE SIGNED THE BILL OF SALE TO US.
TO MAKE THE N NUMBER SWITCH EASY, WE HAVE RESERVED N869TA SO YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO ADD A NUMBER TO THE REAR OF THE 3 NUMBERS AND A LETTER CURRENTLY ON THE SIDE, MAKING IT A 3 NUMBER AND 2 LETTER, LIKE MANY PLANES.THE DATA PLATE IS INTACT.
SOLD WITH LOGBOOKS SINCE NEW FOR THE AIRFRAME AND SINCE "72 ON THE ENGINE, PLUS FAA BILL OF SALE AND A COPY OF THE AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE.
