I have a 1967 Cessna 150G that I learned to fly in but am now selling. I just had it placed last week on EBAY but unfortunately wasn’t able to get what I was looking for due to what I feel was a pretty generic posting so I am reposting it with better info and a better idea of what it is you are looking at in hopes to get what I am looking for which is over $15,000. It has approx. 3500hrs. Total Time, 200 STOH, 1200 SMOH. It runs perfectly, uses no oil between changes and is rigged perfectly. My Dad is an ATP, CFI, and A&P who has flown commercially in Alaska for 35 years. When I decided that I wanted to learn to fly, we knew we wanted a C150 and we made an exhaustive search to find the right one. This airplane, being a C150, of course was a trainer. What distinguishes it is that it has never been in a flight school, hence the low total time. Most 150"s of that era have in excess of 10K hours and have made thousands of touch and gos. While this airplane was used for training, it was always operated by it"s owner therefore low total time and never treated like a rental. It has a KX125 flip flop Navcom which works perfectly. It has an older Narco AT50 Mode C transponder which was working great up to a few months ago but sometimes it seems to take a while to warm up and start working or for the short flights I take not at all. I"m guessing it needs a good cleaning on the board but haven’t diagnosed it yet, could be bad. It has a 2 place intercom system which works great. The airplane needs paint and floor carpet. While it"s ok looking, it"s very straight and would be a knockout with a new paint job and carpet. It has the usual wearing of the formed wing and elevator tips but many do. The seats are ok but there are a few places where the seams are starting to separate so I would say it could use some covers or reupholster soon. The glass is average for the age. It has a few crazed areas but cleans up nice and there are no cracks. If the price is close enough to the asking price I will have a fresh annual performed even though the next one isn’t due until December to let you know you are getting a plane with a clean bill of health. This really will make someone a great little airplane. It does have damage history on the right wing, years ago as a result of a taxiing mishap. The wing was repaired and as I said earlier the airplane is a hands off, perfectly rigged pleasure to fly. If you are thinking of learning to fly (like I was) there is no more practical and economical way to do it than to buy this airplane, do all your training, play with it for a while and then resell it. This airplane has pretty much depreciated out so it"s not unreasonable to fly it for 50 or 60 hours and then sell it for pretty much what you paid for it. Something my Dad said he"s seen before is to get several people who are like minded in learning to fly, form a club, and buy a C150. No one is out a bundle and you still have the airplane pretty much anytime you want it. If I can answer any questions please feel free to call me at 541-778-6687 or if you have a particularly technical question you can call my Dad at 541-821-1387. Also, I have all Log Books from inception date and a folder with hundreds of receipts and proof of work done. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to hear from you soon!
