First Class Ground up Restoration has been started, in 2011 the airframe was sent to American Champion and completely updated with toe brakes, Baggage door frame, mounts for new style instrument panel, and set up for the Aluminum gear. It was then completely sand blasted and powder coated. New wood formers, stringers, cabin top and floor boards installed, and new green house glass from Great Lakes Aero. New instrument panel cut out for electronics international MVP50, standard six pack layout and radio stack. Newer style seats with nice gray tweed covering and new gray lower interior side panels from American champion. Complete new toe brake kit w/ new master cylinders and brake lines New Firewall and used new style upper and lower cowlings that will be in need of some repair. All new stainless control cables have been made and all new pulley’s have been purchased. Scott 3200 Tailwheel with NEW wheel halves New fuel valve and gascolator, and new style throttle cable assy It was my intention to convert this to a 7GCAA with 160hp, and convert to the Aluminum Landing Gear and Metal Spar wings under American Champions Drawings, so there is no firewall forward, the original engine and mount has been sold. The original wood spar wings and wing struts have been sold. I do still have the original steel gear legs with the axles, brakes, and tires, which can still be used. I have a right side metal wing that needs repair, all of the control surfaces and a right side aluminum gear leg. I’m sure I am leaving some things out, there are lots of misc. new parts, bolts and fittings. It is really an open canvas to complete any way you would like, you could get a mid-time 0235 engine and wood spar wings and be flying in no time, or complete the 7GCAA conversion, the airframe is really not far from being ready for cover. I also have a o-320 160hp engine for sale separately with o hours since major on the upper but would need the bottom end overhauled.
