Item specifics
Condition: Used Make: American Grumman AA-1 Yankee 2 seater.
Model Year: 1969
Up for sale here is a really nice 1969 Grumman Yankee AA-1, 2 seater. It comes with the rugged 0-290 Lycoming engine with a 2400 hour TBO. The airplane comes with a total time of approximately 1940-1950 total time airframe and engine as of May 2015.All AD"s done and it"s in current annual until fall of 2015.It"s been a Midwest airplane all of it"s life and at last annual when it was opened up, it looked like new inside. The outside is really nice as well. Paint shines up really well and is probably a 7 out of ten with the nose cowling faded just a little more than the rest of the plane as it shows in the pics and probably could be re-painted at next annual. There is a little hail evidence on side of the vertical stab and wing, but won"t show up in the pictures. That"s the reason this plane is 3-4000.00 cheaper than it would normally be out on the market and you can"t tell the dimples unless you are looking for them and it happened years ago and doesn"t effect anything flying-wise. This cute little plane flies great and hands off true on about 5.5 gph of auto gas for loads of cheap fun or time building, or IFR training which really makes economic sense. This plane comes with a load of radios with a stack that would have cost over 10,000.00 back in the day! It"s equipped with a comm panel with 3 light marker. a transponder with mode C, built inn intercom, A fairly new MK12D with vor and glide slope, and get this--an R-nav with vor and glide slope and individual mlb, along with an older ADF unit, and a Lowrance 2000c color moving map yoke mounted GPS. To my knowledge everything works but is not IFR certified current. I only fly VFR so we don"t keep the certification up to date, but it"s perfect for training and only needs a pitot static mode c test to get current. The engine total time is the same as airframe at 1950TT with 850 SMOH and 160 STOH and compressions are all great and it has the auto gas STC., external mount oil cooler, and exhaust gas cylinder temp guage, and bracket air filter. Engine runs great for less than 6 GPH on auto gas for about the cheapest flying ever! With super low times on everything and a recent top this plane will get some of the cheapest flying and time building ever and it"s a really nice cross country flyer...For the legal stuff: If you bid or buy or your best offer is accepted I expect a non-refundable 200.00 deposit through paypal. The balance must be as a cashiers check, wire transfer, or cash at closing. If you wish to use a title search company and an escrow account,I recommend Aero-Space Reports in OKC,OK. and would be willing to pay half the cost or 250.00 whichever is less, for their services to protect us both. We are located within 15 miles of Omaha,NE. and if you wish to see the airplane you will need to call and make an appointment. Please Call: 712-545-4044 and if you miss us leave a message and we will return your call in the evenings. I am in no rush to sell this Yankee as it"s such a nice, cheap to operate plane to have fun in,,but it needs to go to someone that flies more than I do. Thanks for looking!!
