Good running, good looking 1971 Cessna 172L. All AD"s are up to date. Magnetos, wire harness and spark plugs are all about 15 months old with less than about 25 hours on them.
Engine, Lycoming O-320 E2D was recently installed (march 2015) on this airframe. Engine is running good and starts right up. I have not had any issues with it since I had it installed.
Propeller was recently sent out to be refinished and balanced. (Send message with email and I"ll email you logs.)
Avionics: Narco MK 12DNav/comm, KX 170B, King KT 76A Transponder, 4 place PS engineering intercom
Interior: New in 04/16/2011, it still looks good! I would rate at a 8 out of 10. Carpet looks good but does have some fraying underneath and along a few edges. Not really noticeable as it is installed unless it is removed.
Exterior: New Paint 09/11/2010, Shows very well. I would also rate a 8 out of 10.
Inspection Status: IFR completed 10/16/2014, Annual completed 03/09/2015, All AD"s have been completed and up to date, ELT battery due Mar. 2017
VERY, VERY, VERY extensive annual inspection. Brake pads and rotors replaced, and the brake caliper was essentially overhauled by the A&P. Lots of stuff repaired or replaced.
Send me a message with your email and I will send you pics of the logbooks.
Now for the not so good:
Hail Damage - There is evidence of hail damage. (See pics 10 and 11) Most of the damage was to the ailerons, flaps, and elevator. There are a few small dents that are on the actual wing and horizontal stabilizer.
Damage History - Left wing damage. (message me with your email address and I will send you pics of the logbooks) Was repaired by Broadies Aircraft located at Meacham Field, 8/22/02. I also have the form 337 that I can email you. If you know anything about Broadies, they do very good mechanical and airframe work. My A&P that did the annual this year said that he could not notice any sign of damage by looking at the airframe itself.
Missing Logbooks - Airframe missing logbooks prior to 1997. There is one entry from 1992, but then nothing till 1997. There are continuous airframe logs since then.
Engine is missing logbooks prior to 1993. The A&P signs the logbooks indicating that they were reconstructed from saved files on their computer.
Overall this is a nice looking and running aircraft. I know that it is not perfect and has some definite negatives against it. BUT, it is much better than a lot of airplanes that aren"t maintained very well. This has almost been a no questions asked, if it needs fixed, fix it airplane.
I am selling because I just don"t fly the aircraft very much any more and it needs to go to a good home where it will get used a little more.
Pick up at my location only. Airport identifier is DWH. I can store until June 27, 2015 free of charge.
If you need to inspect the airplane, please do so before the auction ends. If you bid it is a contract to buy. If you want to inspect after the auction ends if you are winning bidder, you may do so because it is your airplane. You can inspect it to see what you bought, but I will not lower the price from what the winning bid is. I have tried my best to describe the airplane in detail to everyone to avoid any complications. If you have questions, please ask before auction ends.
$500 immediate payment via paypal. The remainder can be paid via wire transfer or cashiers check.
