IT"S NOT HARD, TO CATCH BELLCRANK PROBLEMS AT ANNUAL AND WITH BASIC MAINTENANCE, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO INSPECT THE GEAR AT EVERY ANNUAL OR 100 HOUR, BUT THE MECHANIC DID NOT LOG THIS INSPECTION AT THE LAST ANNUAL…
OH WELL HIS LOSS AND THEIR LOSS IS YOUR GAIN!!! AND NOW YOU CAN BUY A $120,000 TWIN ENGINE 220 MPH CRUISER FOR THE PRICE OF A LIGHT SINGLE.
FLYING TO THE BAHAMAS AND BUILDING UP A FLYING CLUB WILL NOT BE HARD WHEN YOU OWN THIS ICONIC AIRPLANE. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY WHEN YOU ARE FLYING A HAMMER EVERY CLOUD LOOKS LIKE A NAIL!!!
AS A RESULT, OF THIS LEFT SIDE GEAR FAILURE THERE IS SCRAPING TO A FEW AREAS AND SOME STRESS MARKS, BUT OVERALL NOT VERY BAD AND THE RIGHT SIDE AND RIGHT ENGINE ARE IN PERFECT SHAPE SO YOU CAN HAVE A TWIN FOR THE REPAIR COST OF A LIGHT PROP STRIKE TAXI GEAR FAILURE ON A SINGLE ENGINE AIRPLANE !!
YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS THAT THERE ARE TWO AREAS WHERE THE WING AND TAIL SKIN ON THE LEFT SIDE SHOW MARKS, AND THE LEFT HAND TANK HAS ABRASIONS ON IT, BUT THIS ALL COULD BE PATCHED AND REPAIRED!! AS THE AIRPLANE WAS MOVING RELATIVELY SLOWLY ON THE RUNWAY AND STILL HAD TWO OUT OF THREE OF ITS GEAR FUNCTIONING THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR AND NOSE GEAR BEARED THE BRUNT OF THE AIRPLANE’S WEIGHT, SO THE REPAIR AREA IS LIMITED.
THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE RH AND NOSE LANDING GEAR !! THEY WERE NOT DAMAGED, AND FUNCTION PROPERLY !! THE NOSE GEAR DOORS AND RIGHT HAND GEAR DOORS ARE UNDAMAGED!! THE RIGHT ENGINE AND PROPELLER SHOULD BOTH BE USEABLE AS-IS THERE IS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE FROM THE INCIDENT. SOLD WITH AIRFRAME AND ENGINE LOGBOOKS, LOTS OF ASSOCIATED PAPERWORK, AND FAA BILL OF SALE.
THE GLASS LOOKS GOOD, AND DOORS SHUT WELL THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE RH MAIN LANDING GEAR AND NOSE GEAR AND THE DAMAGE TO THE LH GEAR IS MINIMAL INSIDE THE BLUE AND GREY INTERIOR WITH WOOD TRIM LOOKS GOOD, AND THE PLASTIC IS IN GOOD CONDITION THE KMA20; AUDIO PANEL AND KX155 NAVCOM RADIOS, ARE SOLD WITH THIS AIRCRAFT. THE ENGINE WILL NOT REQUIRE OVERHAUL, BUT IT WILL REQUIRE AN INSPECTION FOR PROP STRIKE. SOLD WITH SPINNERS, FAIRINGS, AS THE WHOLE AIRPLANE.
