CONTINENTAL ENGINES AND 3 BLADE PROPS, PLUS 166 GALLONS OF FUEL IN ONLY 2 TANKS (NO FUEL MISMANAGEMENT ISSUES), THE 58 BARON IS A FAST, COMFORTABLE AIRPLANE, CAPABLE OF COMFORTABLE, LONG CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHTS.THE OWNER OF THIS AIRPLANE USED IT TO BRING PEOPLE AND PACKAGES FROM FLORIDA TO THE ISLANDS OF THE BAHAMAS, ESPECIALLY CAT ISLAND, SOUTHEAST OF NASSAU, WHERE HE OWNED A RESORT.IN EARLY 2019, HE HAD AN ISSUE ON LANDING AND ENDED UP OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND INTO BUSHES AT THE NEW BIGHT AIRPORT, CAT ISLAND, LESS THAN A MILE FROM HIS RESORT.NEW BIGHT IS THE MAIN, "INTERNATIONAL" AIRPORT OF THE ISLAND, WITH 5,000 FEET OF PAVED RUNWAY, BUT STILL A SMALL, UNCONTROLLED FIELD.DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED MOSTLY TO THE LEFT WING LEADING EDGE, THE LEFT FLAP AND AILERON, THE LEFT SIDE HORIZONTAL STAB AND THE LEFT ELEVATOR.THE NOSEGEAR DOORS ARE DAMAGED AS WELL.THE AIRCRAFT IS CURRENTLY SITTING ON PALLETS UNDER THE LEFT WING, WITH THE LEFT GEAR FOLDED UP INTO THE GEAR WELL, SO IT’S CONDITION CANNOT BE DETERMINED ACCURATELY, BUT THE LEFT GEAR DOORS, INNER AND OUTER ARE UNDAMAGED! (SMALL CREASE IN THE "BUMP" OF THE INBOARD DOOR ONLY).THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE LEFT COWL FLAP OR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM ON THE LEFT SIDE.THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE LEFT NACELLE OUTBOARD SKIN AND ENGINE ACCESS DOOR, BUT NO DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE ITSELF OR ANY ACCESSORIES.THE LEFT 3 BLADED HARTZELL SCIMITAR PROPELLOR WAS DAMAGED, WITH CURLED TIPS ON ALL 3 BLADES.SO THERE WAS A PROP STRIKE ON THE LEFT ENGINE AS WELL.SO LOTS OF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE IS HURT. TRUE, THE LEFT MAIN GEAR DOORS AREN’T HURT, THE LEFT GEAR LEG ITSELF IS PRESUMED GOOD, THE LEFT ENGINE HAS ONLY 400 HOURS SINCE MAJOR OVERHAUL, SO IT IS VALUABLE EVEN WITH THE PROP STRIKE, THE LEFT SPINNER ASSEMBLY IS UNDAMAGED, AND THESE ARE ALL VALUABLE PIECES, BUT THERE IS DEFINITE HURT ON THE LEFT.BUT THE RIGHT SIDE IS A DIFFERENT STORY!THE RIGHT GEAR LEG (ALONG WITH THE NOSE GEAR) ARE NOT DAMAGED, SO THE AIRPLANE DIDN’T GO DOWN ON THE RIGHT SIDE.AS A RESULT, THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE HAS ALMOST NO DAMAGE!THE RIGHT HARTZELL SCIMITAR 3 BLADED PROP HAS ONLY 400 HOURS SINCE BRAND NEW, AND THE TIPS ARE NOT BENT!THE VERY OUTSIDE EDGE HAS A SLIGHT SCRAPE, SO THEY DID TOUCH, BUT THE AMOUNT IS A SMALL FRACTION OF AN INCH, SO THE BLADES SHOULD ALL CLEAN UP WITH NORMAL DRESSING!THERE IS NO BENDING OR DEFORMATION TO THE RIGHT BLADES AT ALL! THE SPINNER IS ALSO UNDAMAGED, JUST LIKE THE LEFT SPINNER.THIS PROP IS A HARTZELL PHC-J3YF-2UF WITH FC7391D BLADES. NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014 WITH 400 SNEW NOW!THE RIGHT ENGINE HAS 400 HOURS SINCE MAJOR OVERHAUL BY CERTIFIED ENGINES UNLIMITED OCTOBER OF 2014. ALL NEW MILLENIUM CYLINDERS INSTALLED, AS WELL AS A VAR CRANKSHAFT.THE LEFT ENGINE, BY THE WAY, IS ALSO A CERTIFIED ENGINES UNLIMITED MAJOR, FROM APRIL OF 2015, WITH A VAR CRANK, 6 NEW MILLENIUM CYLINDERS AND 398 SMOH CURRENTLY.BOTH ENGINES TURN OVER SMOOTHLY BY HAND!THE RIGHT AILERON AND RIGHT ELEVATOR ARE UNDAMAGED. THESE SURFACES WERE REBUILT WITH ALUMINUM SKINS BY SRS USING THEIR STC AT A COST OF $7,000, IN 2011 DOLLARS AND INSTALLED ON THIS AIRPLANE!THE RIGHT FLAP IS ALSO UNDAMAGED.THERE IS NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING OR TIP AS WELL.NO DAMAGE TO THE INBOARD OR OUTBOARD MAIN GEAR DOORS, AND THE GEAR ITSELF LOOKS GOOD.THERE ARE SOME CREASES ON THE NOSE, UNDERNEATH THE NOSE BAGGAGE AREA, FROM GOIG THROUGH SCRUB, BUT THE BAGGAGE DOOR AND AREA ARE NOT DEFORMED, AND THE BELLY ITSELF ISN"T DAMAGED BEHIND THE NOSE GEAR WELL.NO DAMAGE TO THE VERTICAL OR RUDDER.NO DAMAGE TO THE WINDOW GLASS (1/2’ WINDSHIELD RECENTLY INSTALLED)THE ONLY ITEMS MISSING ON THE OUTSIDE ARE THE VERTICAL FIN STROBE AND THE BELLY STROBE, NOT A STRIPPED AIRPLANE AT ALL!!THERE IS A HOLE NEAR THE DOOR LOCK ON THE RIGHT SIDE REAR CABIN DOOR. IT HAD A ROUND PATCH REMOVED WHICH WILL NEED REPLACING. ALL CABIN DOORS AND BAGGAGE DOOR ARE GOOD!INSIDE, ALL 6 SEATS ARE INTACT, AS ARE THE RAM’S HORN SINGLE YOKE. THE SUNSHADES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED SINCE THE INCIDENT, SO THE INTERIOR IS NICE AND NOT BAKED!THE DASH HAS MOST OF THE AVIONICS PANEL UNITS MISSING, BUT THE TRAYS ARE THERE FOR A KING STACK, AND MOST OF THE FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS AND ALL OF THE ENGINE INSTRUMENTS ARE INSTALLED AND UNDAMAGED.ALSO STILL INSTALLED ARE THE SHADIN DUAL FUEL FLOW SYSTEM, WITH TRANSDUCERS, THE EDM 760 DUAL EGT/CHT SYSTEM WITH ALL WIRING AND PROBES, A PM 3000 6 PLACE INTERCOM SYSTEM AND DUAL DIGITAL TACHS.BOTH ENGINES HAVE ALSO BEEN UPGRADED WITH GAMI FUEL INJECTORS.THE COOLEST FEATURE AS FAR AS ELECTRONICS GO IS THE STEC 55 AUTOPILOT SYSTEM! I WISH I HAD THOUGHT OF THAT!GOOD BIDDING!
