Up for sale a nice "74 Grumman AA1B. 4489.4 total time, and 923.6 hours since engine overhaul (July 2006). Annual inspection good till May 2016. IFR pitot/static/transponder check good till January 2017. There"s only one recurring AD on that plane (elevator bungee housing) - quick and cheap to check. This is a great first airplane/time builder. Inexpensive and easy to maintain. It was my first, and in the course of the last 5 years I flew it all around the United States. From New York to Los Angeles, Fargo to Key West. Visited almost 300 unique airports in 38 states. Flew over deserts, mountains, canyons (including Grand Canyon), gulf of mexico and dozens of times across lake Michigan day and night. It"s a solid little airplane. Burns on average 7gal/h (3 hours max endurance - 2.5 with reserve), can go up to 13,500ft (solo, standard temp TESTED). Cruise speed just a hair above 100kts true. Cosmetically - it looks good. Resprayed with single stage polyurethane in 2012. Interior in light cream leather. Plastics are fairly clean and bright. Windows have been replaced in 2006 - still clear no hazing and they have an UV filter - so no sunburn.
Two cylinders (#2 and #3) have been replaced during the last annual inspection, as well as engine baffles. Tires/brakes are like new. Propeller overhauled and re-pitched last annual inspection. Overall you"re getting a lot of airplane for little money. Airplane is hangared at KPWK - Chicago Executive Airport. You are welcome and encouraged to inspect it yourself. Airplane is airworthy and ready for sale. Additional/pre-buy inspections are buyer"s responsibility. You can contact me with any additional questions.
