I am offering my personal plane that I have been flying to pancake breakfast and Fly-ins. AOPA put this plane on the front row when they were here a few years ago. This is a Varga Katchina, factory built in Chandler Arizona. N5062V is the first factory built Varga (yes serial #1) and the only 1974 model. This is the second Varga I have owned. They are very easy to fly, easy to land and draw a crowd everywhere I fly to. This plane was formerly owned by the Varga Society President. The factory installs a Lycoming 150HP O-320 and he had a field approval Lycoming Factory Rebuilt O-320-B2C, 160HP engine installed so this plane has excellent climb rate. I’ve seen 1500 fpm with 2 people at gross weight. Total Airframe time is 2118 and engine time since Factory Rebuilt is 1179 (2000 TBO). I had the prop dynamically balanced so it runs smooth. Paint is excellent. Leather was installed when I bought the plane 4 years ago. Note the flap for stepping on the seat. Stratus Transponder is ADSB-Out compliant and it has a Stratus 2 mounted under the panel for ADSB-In. A ball mount under the panel holds my Ipad (see pictures). Dual USB ports for charging. A 406 ELT was installed at the same time as the Stratus. Smoke tinted top glass helps keep the interior cooler in the Summer. Everything works like it should except the Altitude Alert (which I never used) just stopped working. Tires are good, Brakes are good, Mags are approx.. 50 hours since a 500-hour inspection was performed and recent crankshaft inspection. Annual is a September annual and this plane won’t need anything except an oil change. I just certified the transponder so good for 2 more years. No damage history at all and all logs since new. Very extensive logs from the factory as this plane was used to design the modification for the rudder so all AD’s are complied with. I just don’t seem to find time to fly it so it needs to go to a good home where someone will fly it more often. I might get me a small motorhome for fun now.
