1975 CESSNA 177RG, 2556 TTAF, 986 SMOH, 771 SPOH, NO ACCIDENT, CARRYTHOUGH FAILED, CHEAP!THE CESSNA CARDINAL RG II IS A 4 PLACE, 200 H.P. RETRACTABLE GEAR VERSION OF THE 180 H.P. CARDINAL FIXED GEAR, WHICH FIRST CAME OUT IN 1968.ALL CARDINALS ARE “NEXT GENERATION”, DESIGNED WITH A MORE CAR-LIKE INTERIOR, LONGER, WIDER OPENING DOORS FOR GREAT ACCESS TO THE FRONT OR REAR SEATS AND A CLEAN, PILOT-CENTRIC DASH LAYOUT.THE CARDINAL SERIES HAS MANY UNIQUE QUALITIES, ONE BEING THE ELIMINATION OF THE “LIFT STRUTS” FOUND ON MOST CESSNA SINGLES. IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE THE STRUTS, THE CARDINAL SERIES, LIKE THE 210 BEFORE IT, HAS A LARGE ALUMINUM CASTING THAT RUNS OVERHEAD UNDER THE HEADLINER FROM SIDE TO SIDE, WHERE BOTH WINGS ATTACH. SIMILAR TO HOW CESSNAS FROM THE 1920’S WERE BUILT!THE R.G. VERSION OF THE CARDINAL CAME OUT IN 1971, WITH MORE POWER, FUEL INJECTION, AND A CRUISE SPEED 10 KNOTS FASTER THAN THE FIXED GEAR VERSION.A CLEAN UP, UPDATE AND NEW DETAILS MARKED THE RG II, AND 1975, LIKE THIS ONE, WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THIS VERSION. THIS AIRCRAFT WAS BUILT NEAR THE END OF THE 1975 PRODUCTION RUN.TOTAL TIME SINCE BRAND NEW IS 2,556 HOURS, AIRFRAME AND ENGINE.THE ENGINE WAS OVERHAULED IN 2007, INCLUDING CYLINDERS OVERHAULED BY G&N.THE MCCAULEY 2 BLADE CONSTANT SPEED PROPELLOR WAS OVERHAULED IN 2011 (771 SINCE PROP OVERHAUL) AND INSPECTED AND RESEALED IN 2018 (122 SINCE REASEAL).FACTORY EQUIPPED WITH THE OPTIONAL ARTICULATING SEATS ON BOTH PILOT AND CO-PILOT SIDE.AFTERMARKET UPGRADES INCLUDE:POWERFLOW EXHAUST SYSTEM, SAID TO ADD 15% MORE POWER OR SAVE 15% ON FUEL BURN AT FACTORY POWER, YOUR CHOICE!STEC 30 AUTOPILOT SYSTEM WITH ALTITUDE HOLD INSTALLED AND INCLUDED.THE AVIONICS PANEL UNITS AND INDICATORS ARE NOT INCLUDED OR INSTALLED.ALL FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS SHOWN ARE INCLUDED, AND ALL ENGINE/AIRFRAME INSTRUMENTATION IS FULLY INSTALLED.AS YOU CAN SEE, THE PAINT IS IN QUITE NICE SHAPE, WITH A NEWER SCHEME. THE UPPER IS SHADOW GREY, NOT PLAIN OLD WHITE.THE INTERIOR IS A MODERN NEAUTRAL LEATHER WITH GATHERED CENTERS FOR COMFORT AND CUSTOM CARDINAL BIRDS EMBROIDERED IN THE SEATBACKS IN RED (OF COURSE)! AT THE LAST COMPLETED ANNUAL, 5/20/20, THE SPAR CARRY-THROUGH IN THE CABIN TOP WAS INSPECTED WITH A 10 POWER MAGNIFYING GLASS AND FOUND TO BE OK, BUT AN EDDY CURRENT INSPECTION WAS NOT DONE THEN.WHEN THE AIRPLANE WAS BROUGHT INTO A NEW SHOP FOR ANNUAL IN 2021 (ONE OF THE FORMER OWNERS HAD BOUGHT OUT HIS PARTNERS AND WAS NOW THE SOLE OWNER), THEY FOUND SOME THINGS TO DO (SENT OFF 1 CYLINDER TO PENN YAN FOR OVERHAUL, FOR INSTANCE), BUT BEFORE THEY GOT THE CYLINDER BACK ON AND THE AIRPLANE SIGNED OFF FOR ANNUAL, THEY FOUND CORROSION IN THE OVERHEAD SPAR CARRYTHOUGH IN THE FUSELAGE ( THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN REQUIRING AN INSPECTION OF THESE CARRY-THROUGHS).AS A RESULT OF THE POTENTIAL EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE CARRY-THROUGH, THE OWNER (WHO WAS NO LONGER SHARING EXPENSES WITH HIS PARTNERS) BALKED AT THE TIME DELAY AND EXPENSE OF REPLACING THE CARRYTHROUGH, AND SOLD THE AIRPLANE TO ME.I COULD EASILY PART THIS AIRPLANE OUT, BUT ONCE I SAW IT I REALIZED I WOULD PREFER TO LET A NICE AIRPLANE LIKE THIS BE REPAIRED AND FLOWN INSTEAD.THE PAINT LOOKS VERY GOOD! THE AIRPLANE WAS TRANSPORTED ON IT’S GEAR AND IS STILL STORED ON IT’S GEAR, SO NO ADDITIONAL DAMAGE HAS BEEN SUSTAINED.THE WINGS AND TAIL HAVE BEEN PROPERLY REMOVED FOR TRANSPORT AND WILL REQUIRE REASSEMBLY AFTER THE CARRY-THROUGH REPAIR/REPLACEMENT.THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT/INCIDENT, DID NOT SUFFER ANY DAMAGE OR HAIL, IT JUST NEEDS THE CARRYTHROUGH AD COMPLIED WITH/CORRECTED.THE CYLINDER HAS NOT BEEN RE-INSTALLED AFTER PENN YAN OVERHAUL, BUT ALL PARTS ARE THERE.THE PROPELLOR IS OF COURSE UNDAMAGED AND THERE HAS BEEN NO ENGINE ISSUES OR SUDDEN STOPPAGE DAMAGE.THERE ARE NO KNOWN CORROSION ISSUES TO THE BALANCE OF THE AIRPLANE.THE AIRPLANE HAS FLOWN A TOTAL OF 30 HOURS SINCE THE LAST ANNUAL WAS SIGNED OFF.LOGBOOKS ARE COMPLETE SINCE NEW FOR THE AIRFRAME AND ENGINE AND SINCE THE LAST MAJOR OVERHAUL FOR THE PROP.PAPERWORK IS EXCELLENT, WITH WELL ORGANIZED 337’S, 8130-3’S, AD COMPLIENCE SHEETS, THE OWNERS MANUAL, WEIGHT AND BALANCE, THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT LIST, AND LOADS OF TAGS AND RECEIPTS.AND THE FAA BILL OF SALEAND THE FAA AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE.THIS IS A FANTASTIC WINTER PROJECT, EITHER FOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR A SHOP PROJECT.INSTALL A REPLACEMENT CARRY-THROUGH, REASSEMBLE AS REQUIRED, EQUIP IT HOW YOU WOULD LIKE, SAVE (OR MAKE) MONEY!LOCATED AT OUR MAIN LOCATION AT THE CRYSTAL AIRPORT (KMIC), JUST NORTH OF MINNEAPOLIS.WE WILL STORE THE AIRCRAFT AT NO CHARGE FOR 30 DAYS FROM THE END OF THE AUCTION.LOADING ASSISTANCE OR CONTAINERIZING ARE AVAILABLE AT ADDITIONAL COST IF YOU REQUIRE IT.LOTS OF NICE LOOKING AIRPLANE HERE, NO ACCIDENT, CHEAP!GOOD BIDDING!
