THIS AIRPLANE HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO A HID XENON LANDING LIGHT, MORE LIGHT THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE! NO DAMAGE TO THE LOWER COWL OR LANDING LIGHT!IN FACT, THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE AIRPLANE (THE AREA THAT IS THE FIRST TO ARRIVE AT THE SCENE OF A MOVING ACCIDENT) BACK TO THE REAR OF THE DOOR! NO DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL, WINDSHIELD, DOOR FRAME, ETC. THE DOOR CLOSES AND LATCHES TIGHT LIKE IT SHOULD.AND NO DAMAGE TO THE WHOLE LEFT SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE, INCLUDING WING, CONTROL SURFACES, TAIL, FUSELAGE, WINDOWS, ETC.THE UPPER CABIN SKINS, AFT OF THE DOOR AND BACK TO JUST BEHIND THE BAGGAGE DOOR ARE DENTED AND SCRAPED. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH SOME OF THE DENTING OUT WITH JUST MY BARE HAND, AS THIS IS MOSTLY UNREINFORCED SKINS (WHICH IS WHY IT DENTED SO EASILY).THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW IS BROKEN, BUT THE FRAME APPEARS STRAIGHT, SO REPLACEING THE WINDOW SEEMS ALL YOU WOULD NEED TO DO THERE TO FERRY.THE RIGHT WING HAS SOME SCRAPES AND SMALL DENTS, ABOUT MIDSPAN, SOME JUST PAINT, SOME SLIGHTLY INTO THE METAL. THERE DO NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY SKINS THAT WILL REQUIRE REPLACING IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO A LITTLE SMOOTHING, DENT POPPING AND FILLING. THERE ARE NO FUEL LEAKS AS A RESULT OF THIS LIGHT DAMAGE.THE RIGHT FLAP HAS A SCRAPE ON THE UPPER OUTBORD SKIN ONLY. AGAIN I BELIEVE IT WILL CLEAN UP WITHOUT ANY RESKINNING.THE RIGHT AILERON HAS THE WORST SCRAPING AND A DENT IN THE TOP EDGE. I WOULD FERRY THE AIRPLANE WITH IT, AS THE MOVEMENT IS FULL AND SMOOTH, BUT IT WILL REQUIRE RESKIN OR REPLACEMENT FOR THE FINISHED JOB.THE RIGHT SIDE HORIZONTAL STAB AND RIGHT ELEVATOR ARE MORE DAMAGED AND DEFORMED, BUT LUCKILY, THE ATTACHMENT POINTS AND THE AFT FUSELAGE TAILCONE DO NOT SHOW DEFORMATION.THE ENTIRE “CRUCIFORM” TAIL ON ALL MOONEYS ACTUALLY IS HELD ON WITH ONLY 2 BOLTS! EASY BOLT ON REPLACE OF THE CRUCIFORM TO GET IT READY!AND THAT IS THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE TO THIS AIRPLANE!BRING OR SEND YOUR MECHANIC AND THE WINDOW AND TAIL, AND YOU SHOULD REASONABLY HAVE THE AIRPLANE READY TO FERRY IN A DAY OR TWO!
