“1978 Cessna 172N former flight school bird. This is a 37 year old airplane so read my description and look at the pictures. The plane needs cosmetic TLC like paint and interior or just fly it as is”
Make: Cessna Model Year: 1978
1978 Cessna 172N 180hp Penn Yan SuperHawk with IGW, Powerflow exhaust, and flap gap seals , Lord shimmy mod, ignition booster, around 8500TT, 2789 SMOH, 970 STOH (cylinder kit), fresh annual July 2015, FAA tsp check Aug 2015, new lord cowl mounts, new battery, new nose wheel pant not installed, Nose strut re-shimmed. This may not be the prettiest bird but she flies great and is fast for a 172. Times will change since it"s flown regularly. Has old hail damage on wings. The paint shop said it would add 1K to 1.5K on top of the basic paint price to fix the dents. Other than that just the normal minor dings here and there from use as a flight school bird. I rescued her and now it"s time for somebody to finish the job and make her new again. The log books are from day of delivery from factory and I didn"t see any damage history. The top was done with a cylinder kit and the engine has strong compression and has used only one quart of oil added in over 20 hours of flying. I bought the plane for a family trainer but my kids are not ready for it and I have my eyes set on something more exotic to fly. I will buy another trainer in a few years. After closing the deal and providing insurance I can deliver the plane anywhere in the US for expenses. Plane is for sale on Barnstormers and locally. I reserve the right to cancel this auction if plane sells through over venues. Plane is sold as is where is.
I wanted to post some information on the pictures to head off any questions. The pictures in low light conditions were when I first bought the airplane in DC before it was detailed. The brighter pictures are of the airplane in Texas after being cleaned up.
No the Texas booster seat does not go with the plane. lol
