Item specifics
Condition: Used
This Cassutt was built in 1979. It has 109 hours total time on the airframe and since the engine was overhauled including magnetos. The Continental O-200 engine is from a Cessna 150 with no damage history and has a total hours of 1540 and 109 SMOH. Has a Pacesetter 200 wooden prop. No electrical system and must be hand propped to start. The airplane is not damaged and does not have a damage history. It has very good workmanship on the welding and wood work. I am not that impressed by the fuel tank construction but it does not leak, it had fuel in it when I disassembled the aircraft for transport. It has original fabric which needs some attention, the paint is peeling off in some spots. The fabric condition still looks good but personally I would replace it instead of rejuvenating it, just because of it age and it would take about the same amount of time. The airplane needs an annual inspection and the two discrepancies I am aware of are the above mentioned fabric and the tail wheel is broken where it attaches to the tail spring. This happened when it was in the trailer during transport and not from a bad landing. I inspected the tail wheel and it appears to have been a bad weld to the tempered spring steel arm that finally failed, we did have a cargo strap at that junction and I think the side load from the strap caused the failure during the ride in the enclosed trailer. There was no other damage from moving. The wing is 15 foot long so it is the racing wing. The engine is an O-200 Continental 100HP. Empty weight is 510 pounds. I have ALL of the paperwork including operational limitations, airworthiness certificate, registration, clean Bill of Sale with no liens, original logbooks from the engine when it was installed on the Cessna 150, airframe logbook, maintenance manual created from the builder, receipts, etc... The registration is still current through May 2015. Registration # is N10X. This airplane is not for the student pilot and takes good tail wheel skills to fly it. I have not flown it so I can"t comment on how this particular one flys. I bought it from a friends estate, he was an I.A. mechanic like myself. The last condition inspection was in April 1988. It has been stored in a sealed hangar ever since. I personally knew the previous owner and have seen the plane in his hangar. I believe this engine to be in good condition but I have not run it. I have it priced at $12,500 and I am open to real offers. I also have it listed in other aviation classified and reserve the right to sell it outside of this listing. $500 deposit required at sales agreement with full amount paid at time of pick-up. I accept cash or bank transfer same day, but I will accept certified, bank, business, or personal check if you can wait 3 weeks for it to clear the bank (no exceptions). Must be paid in full before loading on trailer or box truck. This plane will fit in 20 foot box truck. I will be happy to discuss in detail and send more pictures to buyers who are serious about making a purchase. Serious buyers should call first before email.
