ALL MAULES ARE SHORT TAKEOFF AND LANDING AIRCRAFT (STOL) BY DESIGN. THE MAULE TRADEMARK IS THE ABILITY FOR THE AIRPLANE TO BE AIRBORNE BY THE TIME IT REACHES THE DOOR OF THE HANGER, WITH ONLY THE INSIDE OF THE FACTORY AS A RUNWAY. Pretty cool stunt!WITH IT’S 235 H.P. LYCOMING 6 CYLINDER ENGINE IT HAS A HIGH POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO (THIS SAME AIRFRAME IS AVAILABLE WITH ONLY 180 H.P.), A UNIQUE DOUBLE DOOR ON THE RIGHT SIDE REAR FOR EASY LOADING OF PASSENGERS OR CARGO. THE BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT ACCESSED BY THESE DOORS IS LARGE AND CAN BE MADE HUGE WITH THE REMOVAL OF THE QUICK MOUNT REAR BENCH SEAT. THIS DOUBLE DOOR IS IN ADDITION TO THE TWO LARGE STANDARD DOORS FOR THE FRONT SEATERS!THIS AIRCRAFT HAS HAD ALL OF THE DOORS UPDATED TO “PATROLLER” DOORS WITH THE INSERT OF PLEXIGLAS IN THE LOWER SECTIONS IN ADDITION TO THE FACTORY UPPER GLASS. THE VIEW OUT OF THIS AIRCRAFT WOULD BE SPECTACULAR!!YOU MIGHT SAY THAT THE DAMAGE TO THIS AIRCRAFT, CAUSED BY A GROUNDLOOP AFTER LANDING, IS “A TALE OF TWO SIDES”.THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE IS UNDAMAGED!!THIS INCLUDES THE RIGHT WING, RIGHT FLAP, AILERON AND LIFT STRUT, THE 2 FUEL TANKS (THIS AIRPLANE HAS THE OPTIONAL LONG RANGE FUEL SYSTEM, WHICH DOUBLES THE STANDARD FUEL!), AS WELL AS NO DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT SIDE FUSELAGE, NO DAMAGE TO THE DUTCH DOORS OR THE RIGHT FRONT CABIN DOOR.NO DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT GEAR OR GEAR ATTACHMENT POINTS, NOR TO THE CLEVLAND HEAVY DUTY WHEELS AND BRAKES.THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE TAILCONE, VERTICAL STAB OR HORIZONTAL STABILIZER OR THE ELEVATORS ON EITHER SIDE!THE TAILWHEEL ASSEMBLY AND THE TAILWHEEL ATTACHMENT POINTS ON THE TAILCONE APPEAR UNDAMAGED.THE RUDDER IS ALSO OK, BUT THE TRIM TAB ON THE RUDDER WAS KNOCKED LOOSE DURING THE RECOVERY EFFORTS AFTER THE GROUND LOOP.ALSO NOT DAMAGED ARE:THE WINDSHIELD, THE FIBERGLASS COWLINGS UPPER AND LOWER, THE FIREWALL AND THE TUBULAR ENGINE MOUNT.WHAT IS DAMAGED? THE LEFT WING, FLAP, AILERON AND LIFT STRUT.THE LEFT GEAR LEG (THE CLEVELAND WHEEL AND BRAKE APPEAR UNDAMAGED ON THE LEFT). THE LEFT DOOR STRUCTURE LOOKS GOOD, BUT THE UPPER DOOR GLASS AND THE LEFT REAR WINDOW GLASS ARE BROKEN.THE WING ATTACH POINTS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE ABOVE THE DOOR ARE SLIGHTLY DISPLACED AND THE FABRIC IS SAGGED.NO DAMAGE TO THE BOOTCOWL ON THE LEFT SIDE OR TO THE TAILCONE ON THE LEFT SIDE.INSIDE, THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE NICE WHITE SEATS OR THE CONTROLLS.THE DASH HAS NO AVIONICS AND ONLY BASIC FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS, BUT THE AIRFRAME AND ENGINE GUAGES ARE ALL INTACT AND WIRED AND THERE ARE TRAYS FOR A FULL NARCO DUAL NAV-COM SETUP WITH GARMIN GPS, STILL INSTALLED AND WIRED.THIS AIRPLANE IS BEING SOLD WITH THE AIRFRAME LOGBOOKS SINCE 1991 (PREVIOUS LOGS LOST, MECHANIC FAMILIAR WITH THE AIRPLANE ATTESTED THAT TACH TIME WAS TOTAL AIRFRAME TIME.LAST ENTRY WAS 6/19/2021 AND THE ANNUAL DOES NOT EXPIRE UNTIL 12/1/2021, SO THIS AIRPLANE WAS FLOWN, AND HAD IT’S MISHAP, RECENTLY.IN ADDITION TO THE LOGBOOKS, WE HAVE AN ILLUSTRATED PARTS BOOK, FLIGHT MANUAL, AD COMPLIENCE SHEETS, WEIGHT AND BALANCE, ETC.AND THE FAA BILL OF SALEAND THE KEYS!THIS AIRCRAFT WILL REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE LEFT WING AND LEFT GEAR LEG TO BE A VIABLE PROJECT, BUT THE REMAINDER OF THE REPAIRS WOULD BE RELATIVELY EASY.OR OF COURSE IT WILL MAKE A FANTASTIC PARTS DONOR FOR ANOTHER MAULE PROJECT YOU MAY HAVE OR KNOW ABOUT.LASTLY, AS I SAID BEFORE, THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WHOLE AIRPLANE IS UNDAMAGED.IF YOU HAVE A DISPLAY OPPORTUNITY THAT NEEDS AN AIRPLANE TO PROTRUDE IN PROFILE FROM A WALL, INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR, THIS WOULD BE HEAVEN SENT!!IF CUT DOWN THE MIDPOINT, OR EVEN LEFT OF THE MIDPOINT, THIS AIRPLANE SHOWS PERFECTLY!!NO PAINTING OR REPAIR REQUIRED ON THE RIGHT SIDE AT ALL!!AND IT IS ALREADY DISASSEMBLED, SO THE WHOLE AIRFRAME WILL TRANSPORT EASILY ON AN 18-20 FOOT UTILITY TRAILER.LOTS AND LOTS OF COOL AIRPLANE HERE, FOR SO LITTLE MONEY, YOU DO WITH IT AS YOU WISH!GOOD BIDDING!
