THIS AIRCRAFT SUFFERED DAMAGE WHEN THE PILOT SIMPLY FORGOT TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR DURING THE APPROACH!!.
I KNOW, IT SOUNDS WIERD TO ME TOO, AS THE P MODEL IS USUALLY FLOWN BY VERY HIGH TIME, EXPERIENCED PILOT"S, BUT IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT EVERYONE CAN HAVE A BAD DAY
DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE IS TO THE FORWARD BELLY, BOTH ENTRY STEPS, THE FLAP INBOARD SKINS, AND SCRAPING TO THE NOSE WHEEL DOORS
SEVERAL ANTENNAS ON THE BELLY WERE SCRAPED, WHICH IS A GOOD THING, BECAUSE THE ANTENNAS TAKE SOME OF THE ABUSE WHICH COUD OTHERWISE GO TO THE BELLY.
ONE ANTENNA, ON AN UNSUPPORTED SKIN, TORE THAT SKIN, BUT A SIMPLE PATCH WILL REPAIR THAT AREA
ALL OF THE FUSELAGE SCRAPING DAMAGE IS ON THE BELLY ONLY FROM ABOUT MID-WAY ON THE NOSE GEAR WELL TO ABOUT THE FORWARD EDGE OF THE WINGS.
THE FIBERGLASS NOSE CONE AND FORWARD NOSE BULKHEAD IS UNDAMAGED !
THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO EITHER LONG RANGE WING
NO DAMAGE TO THE MAIN GEAR DOORS, AILERONS OR TIPS WITH ENCLOSED NAV/STROBE LIGHTS
NO DAMAGE TO ANY OF THE LANDING GEAR ITSELF, NOSE OR MAINS.
AIRPLANE WAS CAREFULLY LIFTED AND GEAR POWERED DOWN AND LOCKED, NO PROBLEM
OTHER THAN THE BELLY SCRAPING, THERE IS NO FUSELAGE DAMAGE, DENTING OR DEFORMATION
NO DAMAGE TO THE DOORS, (STANDARD FRONT ENTRY DOOR AS WELL AS REAR CABIN DOOR ON THE PILOT SIDE AFT, FOR REAR PASSENGER USE ) OR THE VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE THICK PRESSURIZED WINDOWS.
NO DAMAGE TO THE TAIL OR ANY OF THE TAIL FEATHERS
OVERALL VERY SHARP AIRPLANE, WHITE WITH DARK BLUE AND GOLD ACCENTS
THE 6 SEAT INTERIOR HAS NEUTRAL LEATHER IN GOOD CONDITION, WITH THE 4 REAR SEATS IN A CLUB CONFIGURATION.
