Everything has been kept in dry storage and out of the sunlight. The wings have been kept stored in the factory covers and the colors and fabric are crisp.
The engine is a Cayuna which was oil preserved at time of storage and is in great shape. This is a complete aircraft that needs just a good washing and a little maintenance to get her flying again.
This Ascender is located in Inyokern, California.
The Pterodactyl Ascender is powered by the Cuyuna engine. Anyone who has flown one will tell you they climb like a homesick angel and handle like a dream. The wing comes off easily for transportation, and the Canard makes the plane virtually stall-proof. The plane is 2-axis control, meaning all flight-control input is through the control stick, and the plane has no rudder pedals. The Pterodactyl design was first introduced almost 40 years ago, and yet is still in production today - a testament to it"s rugged design and great flying characteristics. The plane is easily converted to a two-seat airplane with the addition of a bolt-on seat (and the required paperwork to convert it to an LSA). Back in the 1980"s a gentleman flew a Pterodactyl from coast to coast, and that plane now hangs at the National Air and Space Museum.
