1991 RANS S-7 COURIER, 694 TT, 202 SNEW ROTAX 582, NO PROP DAM, CHEAP!THE S-7 IS A 2 SEAT TANDEM HOMEBUILT WITH CONVENTIONAL (TAILWHEEL) LANDING GEAR.THE FORWARD FUSELAGE IS WELDED STEEL TUBING WHILE THE AFT FUSELAGE IS BOLTED ALUMINUM TUBING. THE AIRCRAFT IS FABRIC COVERED.FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE RANS AIRCRAFT, YOU MIGHT THINK OF THIS AIRPLANE AS SIMILAR TO A KITFOX, BUT WITHOUT THE KITFOX’S ROUND COWLING.THIS AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A PROBLEM WHICH KILLED THE ENGINE IN FLIGHT.ATTEMPTS AT PRIMING AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE IN FLIGHT RESULTED IN ONLY A BRIEF SPURT OF POWER.THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRPLANE OFF-FIELD, WHERE THE RIGHT WING CLIPPED A FENCE AND A FENCE POST DAMAGED THE LOWER FIBERGLASS COWLING.THE PROPELLOR DID NOT SUFFER ANY DAMAGE.THE PILOT WAS WORRIED THAT THE ENGINE HAD RUN LOW ON OIL, BUT THERE IS OIL IN THE RESERVOIR AND THE MIX TANK, AND THE ENGINE TURNS BY HAND, WITH ONLY THE RESISTANCE OF COMPRESSION ON ALL CYLINDERS, AS IT SHOULD BE.THE FAA DID NOT DETERMINE A REASON FOR THE ENGINE TO KILL, BUT THE PILOT REPORTED IT LIKE “SHUTTING OFF THE MAGS” SO THERE MAY BE A SHORT IN THE IGNITION SWITCH LINE, OR POSSIBLY A FUEL DELIVERY ISSUE.THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRFRAME IS TO: THE RIGHT WING OUTBOARD THE FUSELAGE CORNER AT THE RIGHT REAR CABIN AND OVERHEAD TUBES THE FIBERGLASS LOWER COWLINGTHE RIGHT CORNER OF THE LOWER FIREWALL CLOSEOUT AND THE RIGHT FORWARD LOWER SKIN.THE BALANCE OF THE AIRCRAFT IS IN GOOD CONDITION!!THE RIGHT WING IS UNDAMAGEDTHE MAIN LANDING GEAR AND GEAR ATTACH AREA IS UNDAMAGEDTHE TAILCONE, TAIL FEATHERS AND TAILWHEEL ARE UNDAMAGEDTHE INTERIOR IS IN VERY NICE CONDITION, WITH SHOULDER HARNESS SEATBELTS, DUAL CONTROLS AND A FULL INSTRUMENT PANEL, AS SHOWN.2 PLACE INTERCOM SYSTEM IS INSTALLED AND INCLUDEDTHE ENGINE SHOWS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE AND THERE WAS NO PROP STRIKE!THIS IS THE UPGRADE ENGINE FOR THE S-7, WHICH ORIGINALLY WAS INTENDED FOR 50 H.P.THE 64 HORSEPOWER ROTAX 582 WAS INSTALLED BRAND NEW IN 2004 AND HAS ONLY 202 HOURS SINCE NEW NOW!THE UNDAMAGED PROP IS A COMPOSITE 2 BLADE GROUND ADJUSTABLE.THE SPINNER IS UNDAMAGEDTHE LOWER SKIN BEHIND THE FIREWALL THAT IS DENTED IS ONLY 18” BY 18” AND POP RIVITS ON. THIS SKIN IS NOT STRUCTURAL, ONLY A COVERING.THE FIREWALL SURFACE IS FLAT WHERE THE ENGINE MOUNT BOLTS ON, AND THIS PANEL, ALONG WITH THE MOUNT TUBES, APPEARS UNDAMAGED.AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIREWALL IS A SEPARATE, SMALL CURVED PANEL THAT GIVES THE ROUNDED SHAPE TO THE BELLY. IT IS ONLY THIS SMALL, SEPARATE PIECE THAT APPEARS TO BE DAMAGED!THE TOP COWL IS NOT DAMAGEDTHE WINDSHIELD IS NOT BROKENTHE RIGHT SIDE WINDOW IS NOT BROKENTHE RIGHT DOOR MECHANISM FUNCTIONS FULLYTHE LEFT DOOR IS NOT DAMAGEDTHIS IS A VERY CUTE LITTLE AIRPLANE, WITH VERY REPAIRABLE DAMAGE AND A LOW TOTAL TIME 582 WITH UNDAMAGED PROP.WHAT A FUN PROJECT!SOLD WITH ENGINE LOGS SINCE NEW, THE RECENT AIRFRAME LOGS AND THE FAA BILL OF SALE.LOCATED AT OUR MAIN LOCATION AT THE CRYSTAL AIRPORT (KMIC), JUST NORTH OF MINNEAPOLIS, MN.WE WILL STORE THE AIRPLANE FOR 30 DAYS AT NO CHARGE, THEN $7 PER DAY THEREAFTER.THIS WILL BE EASY TO TRANSPORT, AS IT ROLLS PERFECTLY ON ALL 3 GEAR, RIGHT ONTO A FLAT TRAILER!LOT’S OF FUN, NOT LOT’S OF MONEY!GOOD BIDDING!
